I imagine one could generate decent income with embedded videos monetized with iTunes affiliate links. This idea itself is legal as far as I could verify.

Having youtube in the TLD would boost SEO so it is important to know. I am thinking youtubemusic.com and similar variations of it. I see they are quite common but may lead to legal issues. The google TOS is not clear enough to me. I am hoping for some pointers or info on this. Any help would be appreciated.

Google says "Do not register the YouTube trademarks as second-level domain names or incorporate YouTube trademarks into your own names for products, services, features or companies. Similarly, do not incorporate YouTube trademarks into your own trademarks or logos."

I imagine if youtubemusic.com is considered a trademark this would violate the TOS.

DON'T DO IT! Is that clear enough for ya?

Edit: BTW Your mentioning TLD, a top level domain is actually .com .net .org .etc. A second level domain is the bit where your looking to put youtubemusic. This is why Google's TOS says: "Do not register the YouTube trademarks as second-level domain names..."

Hope that helps clear up your missunderstanding of Googles TOS.

youtube and other social marketing websites should only be utilized as a supplement to your already booming traffic from SEO.

Thanks for your warnings and the clarification on second level vs. top level.

Afaik it might make a difference if it would be for instance musicfromyoutube.com and the like. It would not imply that it is part of google/youtube but just a kind of fan-site.

I don't know if this sufficient though and I doubt I can get a reliable confirmation. Without it I will most likely just scratch this thought because of the risk involved.
