Successful Warriors, may I ask you a question?

I'm really keen to know what you think, is the reason that you are successful with Internet Marketing.

I think most people who fail might have given up too fast. But what is that factor that gave you the breakthrough and that made you successful? Was it timing? Was it having a business plan? Was it your mindset? Was it luck?

You only fail if you give up.

Most successful business owners in any market, online or offline, have had many more "failures" than successes. It is just that when they get the success, it is big.

There have been many threads similar to this, here is one.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/mind-war...s-succeed.html

I am a big advocate of finding someone who is already consistently getting the results you want doing what you want to do and then follow that model which then leads to the second thing, once you have a plan, stick to it.

Focus is key. Most IM'ers, especially new ones, jump all over the place going after one "shiny object" after another that promises the moon.

There are plenty of successful people in IM and many of them have given away exactly what they have done for free on this forum.

Find one of those and follow that.

yes I think that is the problem. Because they are so many ways of making money online, people jump from one method to the other because one is impatient. So focus, giving value are the big factors from what I see other people say, thus far.

    Hi Roan
Most people fail in Internet Marketing as in any other business for the same reason. They're not prepared to pay the price for success - Hard work and persistence!

I have always done a lot of networking even when I had my offline businesses.

However, when it comes to online and making money, depending on your method, you could make money in a few days with none of that.

For example, if you found a good CPA program that paid $5.75 for a email submit lead and then found a traffic source that cost enough that even with a .002 conversion you were still money ahead. You could start making money immediately without any of the above.

There are many more examples, most have been written about here.

There are people on here who have huge lists and make money and don't rely on SEO or Google for most of their traffic.

Not only are there many different methods, there are many different approaches to each method.

Some could be almost immediate. Some cost money, some are free.

Again, it is finding that "thing", that "method" that works for you.

And in my opinion, here is the place to do it, for free.

Understanding that "Internet Marketing" isn't some magic money spigot, it's a business and that old fashioned business principles apply. That means providing value. Value does not involve spinning, scraping, spamming or any other drive by BS tricks. These methods are actually anti-business and will work against you.

I wonder how many people who come here and complain that they've tried and failed were involved in anti-business strategies like the ones I've mentioned and others.

I'm not saying the OP is into any of this stuff, just a little vent after removing 300+ (literally) spam comments from one of my sites.

Number one thing for me is you have to be passionate about your topic or niche. It gives you the drive to want to be an expert in your chosen arena.

Secondly, you have to feel good about what you're offering or selling.

These two things keep you positive and less likely to burn out... IMHO

You got it right about people giving up too early. I find it true especially with people who do not have so much funds to play with. They exhaust their funds, call it quits and say IM doesn't work.

Try, and try again. If you fail, try again. People, me included, jump from one thing to another. Make up your mind and stick to it!!!

If you think something is good for your business,
instead of just ''thinking'' about it...

    Just DO THE DAMN THING!

The quicker you can do that, and the more
persistent you are, then the more assured you
can be that your going to be successful

Others, above, have already said what I wanted to say i.e. it's all about persistence. But I have some thoughts about why they don't persist. Having conceived of a plan, they put in some initial effort. Perhaps what they consider to be a lot of effort for the first few months and then, they are expecting to see results. They do actually see results, but the results they get are usually not what they had anticipated.

This is the point where the winners get separated from the losers because a kind of calculation takes place in their mind based on the formula, X amount of effort = Y amount of results. The losers do not think that Y is fair enough compensation for all their hard work. On the other hand, the winners simply figure out what they need to do to increase X in order to produce the results they want.

It's simple maths: if you want to earn 10 x times the amount you are producing, you either find another way or you multiply your efforts by a factor of 10. Losers get busy looking for the other way because they believe that they must be doing something wrong or that there must be a better way. So they buy another product, looking for a better, quicker, easier life. Winners find the ways to multiply their efforts.

I believe it's because most people don't have an entrepreneurial mindset when they start.
Most just want to make money, and that's not usually what makes successful businesses.

The second reason I think people fail is because they have no idea what it takes to manage themselves much less a business.

"what is that factor that gave you the breakthrough and that made you successful?"

This kind of thinking is one of the reasons people give up.

Your skills and your income in internet marketing will usually rise slowly over time.

Some people do get lucky and if you stay in the game long enough and DO enough you will have some good luck eventually.

But at the core of most successful internet marketers are years of hard work developing skills, developing lists and contacts with other marketers.

Most of the big marketers I know now I also knew when they were making a very small income and really working hard to develop their skills and following.

One other key I'd say personally is critical is having a genuine committment to provide a valuable service to others with whatever products and services you sell.

As our actions on the internet become more transparent it's becoming very easy to see who is going out of their way to really help others and who are just trying to suck money out.

If you want a long term business make sure you do everything you can to genuinely help the people you come in contact with.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh
