What is the way to find the competiting website?

I find 18,000 global searches; then I use comma "keyword" to find them. Do I need to use comma or no comma?

If you search for your keyword with the speech marks surrounding i.e. "weight loss", the search results contained will be representative of how many sites contain that exact same phrase on their site.

People say to look stick with keywords that throw out 30,000 - 50,000 results. Personally I look at how well the sites are set up SEO-wise both on and off site then make a judgement as to whether or not I could out rank them. A lot of sites are not optimised as well as they could be.

Don't worry about your competition. Work hard everyday, a backlink is a backlink. You take your backlink and put it where people will see it. Don't worry about what ranks and what doesn't because if you keep putting out good content your website will start ranking for keywords and phrases you had no intentions of ranking for. But guess what? It's still traffic and more traffic = more money. You're being strategic though and that is good.

I guess what you're trying to say is how to determine keyword competition. If that's the case, just search for the keyword in Google and take note of the webpages that come up. These webpages are your competitors for that keyword phrase. So the next thing you have to do is to spy on your competitors using tools like backlinkwatch.com, and Traffic Travis.

You'll determine the strength of the competition base on the number and quality of backlinks your competitors have, onpage seo etc.

I usually use the free version of traffic travis to determine the level of difficulty of ranking a keyword. I really don't use the "quote the keyword" technique. That's just me though
