Can't we do better than EZA et al?

Hello fellow warriors,

I have been pondering what can be done about the decline of article marketing with Google's latest Panda, and I think the solution is to create a real Internet resource, with extremely high standards for user submitted content. I am envisioning a Wikipedia-like site, but specific to a niche, and with much deeper and more valuable content (textual or otherwise) than Wikipedia for that specific niche. The model will be based on crowdsourcing, i.e. articles will be written and contributed to by the users of the site. Quality control would be done by partners, who will have their adsense/whatever ads on the page. Valuable contributions to the information on the page will be rewarded with a link to the contributor's site at the bottom of the article.

Do you think this model will work? I need someone to create such a site and get high Google authority on it so that I can submit my high quality articles, lol.

PS: I wish I could be the one to create the crowdsourcing site, but I have to focus on finishing my Ph.D. first. I hate not having enough time to do stuff.

Good ideas only matter if you have the time to implement them.

I like it, but I don't have the time or money to make it a reality either.

Great thoughts. Lack of enough time is always one tough nut for most IM'ers.

Exactly what needs to be done!

The crux of the issue, for any new startup, is how they effectively leverage their typically limited resources--time and money--to adequately provide quality control and thorough content screening prior to publication. From what we've learned from the Panda updates, it's clear that quality is paramount....but, it's no easy task, especially when working within such tight constraints. The sky is the limit for the startup that can figure out how to make it happen....simultaneously ensuring quality, providing enough incentive for users to continually contribute that high quality, AND, foster a community that'll help aid in ensuring that good writers stay motivated....

There are many facets to this. I've kept my eyes on several emerging startup companies who are attempting to do this. Again, the sky is the limit for the entrepreneurs who can figure out how to satisfy all these things....and, still have the quality of content, and forsight, that will keep their startup from becoming scathed by Google in the near and distant future...

Yeah, although one can simply implement certain aspects of this model within their current projects. It will be an iterative process; as the site grows, so will its authority, and so will the contributions to the site, and so on.

Of course, this idea will work best with web development/marketing/seo related niches, since the audience will readily realize the benefits of the whole ordeal.

Unfortunately, with the influx of massive amounts of users and content, so also will there be a serious ever present challenge to control quality content. With 10-20 new pieces of content submitted a day, it's not so bad....but, what if the site eventually gains tens of thousands of users, and thousands of new pieces of content a day?

Suddenly, the startup will be faced with the challenge of ensuring quality, while, unfortunately, having limited staffing and funds....that's where the most passionate and creative, outside-the-box thinking entrepreneurs will rise to the top....

    There hasn't been one.

Google's Panda updates are all a major boost for article marketing.

This forum's packed with threads in which successful article marketers are explaining, at length and in detail, why we're doing much better as a result of the Panda updates. Take some time off from doing your Ph.D. and have a read around.

We can now use article directories for the purpose for which they exist with no risk of them ever outranking our own sites. That's a huge advantage.

There's been a dramatic decline for article directory marketing (and that's a blessing - it never worked very well anyway), not for article marketing at all - quite the opposite.

No idea - I don't quite see why it's needed, myself.

You wouldn't rather have the high Google authority for your site, rather than for someone else's?! I don't understand this.
