Is bum marketing dead?

I'm just getting my feet wet again with IM. I've been away for almost a year. I'm just wondering if bum marketing is dead?

In terms of submitting articles to EZA and banging your head against a wall building backlinks to those articles hoping that they rank in Google?

Yes (For the most part at least) The farmer and panda updates made sure of that. EZA lost in upwards of 90% of its search engine rankings. Moreoever why would you want to make yourself entirely dependent on EZA for traffic? Most of it gets lost to all the Adsense ads. Plus they can delete all your content at any time, leaving you out to dry.

However some people still swear by submitting mass amounts of articles for direct traffic from EZA itself. That still works. (Directory marketing) Though not as much as it used to.

Syndication marketing will never die however.

I guess it depends on your definition of bum marketing.

It's not dead, but not nearly as effective as it used to be. Depends on the niche and competition too.

nope it aint dead, but its not as effective.

We changed from bum marketing back in 2010 / 2011 when we saw the first google changes. I am glad we did that, and now get lots of traffic through syndication and also directories and becoming friends with high traffic webmasters and trade journals. This...in my opinion is better than any article marketing secrets you will hear.

Do the hard work, and get the good results you are after. Simple as that.

Traditional bum marketing is dead. No more EZA, Goarticles, Hub Pages or USFreeAds.

    Here's the new strategy:

    1. Write 20 articles
    2. Turn those 20 articles into videos (You can do this on Fiverr or use a service like Xtranormal to make a free video)
    3. Submit and start backlinking like crazy!

    Youtube is the new EZA.
