Who am I going to use as a payment processor for membership site?!

I'm planning to launch a membership site soon too. Appreciate much if some warriors can shed some lights =)

Personally I have tried a few payment processors but I would say my favorite is ClickBank. The exposure that you can get with them is huge and since I have moved my products over there my sales have increased by 70%.

I would always recommend using your own merchant account when it comes to membershp sites, the reason being that if anything happens to your payment processor when you have a few hundred/thousand members, there is no way to transfer their credit card info to another PP - so you basically have to convince them all to sign up again once you have a new PP in place.

With your own merchant account you have more control and tpyically, lower fees.

2checkout is your best bet

2checkout doesn't allow internet marketing related products anymore (if this is your niche). If you sell something other than IM products, you should use 2checkout. Otherwise if you want to sell IM products, you may want to consider Clickbank.

If that's true, then that's a terrible move in Paypal's part. I've always had great luck with ClickBank. Good Luck!

Actually the best is Clickbank, but I use Payspree by at least 1 year and half, with really cool results. PP way to do business is uncomprehensible and I really don't know where it will finish. It seems they like to ban IM'ers.

The best thing would be the creation of a global payment system created by a group of internet marketers, allowing any operation. This will be a golden idea for anything with the right knowledge.

Check out Merchantinc.com, I've been looking them over recently because of all the Paypal stuff that is going on. I'm going to be possibly not even using PayPal at all when I start up my thing, as I can't stand the idea of them having total control of the account. With one move they could kill my business if I am relying on them. When I see marketers with screenshots of having $14,000 in their PayPal accounts, an additional reason I just don't believe it's real is that I figure that no one smart enough to amass $14k from IM is going to be dumb enough to leave it sitting vulnerable in a PayPal account.

Everyone needs to be reminded of the fact that Paypal is not a bank and is not subject to federal banking laws, so they get away with being a law unto themselves.

I don't get why so many IM people don't mention or think of merchant accounts. You're merchants, right? PayPal is really a second-rate type of service with eBay stigma... a merchant account taking credit cards on your site directly (like Amazon does for example) seems much more professional to me.

I'd like to see verifiable proof that PayPal is no longer going to allow anyone to sell memberships and digital products. Not a thread on a forum, or something that your B-I-L's, cousin's, second wife's, brother's, uncle said. Proof.

I very much doubt this is true, I have over 6k a month in residuals coming in through PayPal, all for digital products.

Think about how much money they would lose just from my business in a year, and I'm not even close to what some people are making.

Even Terry Kyle's new High PR Kingdom has announced that it intends to use Paypal for its subscriptions and I'm sure TK has done his homework when it comes to that decision.

1 shopping cart is awesome ..If you are using digital products clickbank for sure

As an alternative to Paypal what about World Pay? They seem to be a bit more reputable than merchantinc and available to international sellers from what I've read. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has dealt with them?

Actually I just checked out World Pay's fees - very unattractive....

Paypal is fine and accepts the majority of payment types

I think people trust Paypal too.

I'm in Australia and most merchant accounts are for US sellers only.

Anyone know of any merchant accounts with reasonable fees that will accept an Australian online web startup business? I haven't found one. Just have to go with Paypal but I'd love to hear if anyone else has any suggestions.....
