Anyone know how to rank Local Businesses?

Hello Warriors,

A strange thing happened to me today. I was delivering some iron gates to a customers and when i got to the location i saw this nice big house with a porsche on the driveway. I knocked on the door and told the guy that answered that i had come to put up his gates.

Anyway i got talking to this guy later in the afternoon and i asked him what he did for a living. He told me that he gets people seen on Google. I asked him if he would show me how he does this but he wouldn't because i might become competition for him. The guy said he has been doing this years in a office at the bottom of his garden.

All the time i was talking to him i was thinking "You lucky Bas#ard" but at the same time i was just amazed that i had met a someone that has had real results on the internet.

I wanted to ask if anyone does this kind of business and would be willing to give me the secret formular on how all this plans out. What a experience to has been for me.

    Mate there is no secret formula, that's the first thing you need to be clear of.

    There's NO secret formula to anything so forget all the ****e you read.

    I do exactly what he does for local businesses and affiliate sites. It really isn't that hard but it requires patience and continuous work. Buying a bunch of backlinks from WSO forum doesn't cut it. It requires learning and understanding how other sites rank.

    A site must appear natural and organic to search engines with a diversity of links, traffic, social links blah blah blah. My point is there's no secret formula.

      Could you suggest anything that will help me learn about this kind of business. How did you go about learning how it was done. It has really opened up my eyes to how powerful this business is and i would love to give it a go.

    This is exactly what I'm doing as well, check out the wso section, there are loads of good guides on this stuff.

    It is actually a lot easier than it sounds, the most difficult part is getting customers to choose you over the thousands of other options, so be ready to get on the phone and start calling people and then meeting face to face, it's way harder to get customers without being face to face with them.

    I'm writing a guide on how to start this kind of business myself, I'll be giving it away free on my blog.

      I agree. Ranking is the easy part. Client acquisition is the tough part.

      It will take many many failures and a whole boatload of work to get enough business to live comfortably, let alone be able to buy fancy cars, etc.

      It's very possible, but extremely difficult.
