Membership sites & my confusion

So...I've read a lot of different things around here in regard to the best way to run a membership site...Assuming that I am using optimizepress I have 2 questions:

1. What is the best (and most affordable) membership plugin? S2Member, DAP, etc....

2. Can I integrate a forum that is user friendly into my members area w/ Optimizepress?

Here's the thing- my membership is going to remain somewhat small for the most part (less than 50 members)....I just need a way to lock away some content for the paying members....

Any thoughts?

As always, I appreciate the help!!!!!!!

Optimize press is just a Wordpress theme...so essentially you are looking for a wordpress membership platform.

AMember is one I see a lot. I currently am using WishList member and with Wordpress is works great. I would recommend is, just make sure you have a little time to go through their tutorials.

    Cheers,

I have purchased DAP and have it on two (as yet unlaunched...procrastination and NOT TAKING ACTION...) sites and am looking forward to utilizing it. I've heard good things and bad( do a search on this forum) about a few membership plugins/software.

I'm sure each has it's good great and not so good points, but what I've read, studied and heard about DAP fits my expectations and future growth.

Having said the S2member has a free 'interface' and will work for my basic needs on my primary site where I need to lock content.

DAP has multiple licenses ( as do others) and as said is what I went with.

Hope that helps and goes some way to making your online business be stress free( to some extent)

    Regards

      Sounds good....Thanks guys!

I'm pretty new to this idea.....What about a forum?

I want my membership area to have a forum where all members can interact, etc....

How would this be accomplished? With DAP or WishList Member, etc?

If you want simple forum integration, then you can use DAP with Simpleress or Mingle Forum.

If you want a more sophisticated setup (kind of like the Warrior Forum), then go with vBulletin. And DAP integrates very well with vB.

Also, remember - don't focus on just the price. You want a solid product, backed by great support, a company that's going to be around for a while, and features that will allow your membership site to scale as it grows.

Use Optimize Press and WishList Member... They work like a dream together and looks very professional and clean. A lot of A+ marketers use these two programs as well so it's battle tested and the members love it because it looks great and the content stays very well organized inside the members area. It;s very easy to add content, protect content etc... after reviewing the videos!

As for the forum I believe there is a plugin for that for WP...
