Just a warning to Warriors about sites you might see on Flippa that are too good to be true and where the seller is brand new.

I visited a site today based on a search of large number of hits (50,000+), price was $38 and reserve reached despite a $800 a month in revenue.

I visited the site and it launched a trojan onto my PC, thanks a a lot!

I checked the seller from another PC and the clues are all there, the seller signed up 4 hours ago, they are linked to numerous other accounts and if you look at those it shows

Country: Netherlands
Verified non-fixed VOIP phone number in United States of America
This user has also recently logged in from:
  • India

It is bad enough that you can't trust much on Flippa but now it is not even safe to to visit the sites.

Of course they are asleep and so the hackers have a load of time to catch people before Flippa take it down.

Flippa should not allow sites to be put up while they sleep

Flippa should not allow Sellers to operate when they can clearly detect that there is something dodgy going on with related account, it listed all of the following as related accounts, many of the new and propably just traps

Possible links to: The last one has the hacked site

So how do you check if its a virus site or not, is there a website where you can plug the address in? Worried!

Start off by looking at the seller, if the account is less than 24 hours WALK AWAY.

If the site looks too good t be true, reserve of $38 for a site that generates $800 a month.

      Look for linked accounts

Look for logins by the accounts from different countries, e.g. Telephone in One country, login from another etc.

The biggest risk is now while Flippa sleeps, even site that have warnings are not going to pick these up because they are probably seeded with the trojan just after the site is posted.

Do not use an Admin account on your PC or you will not recover from this.
