Where should I send traffic, to a website or directly to Affiliate sales page?

Hello

I am sure many of you warriors have an opinion, or answer to this question: I just want to make some quick money and I have a great product that I am affiliated with, would it be best to direct my leads to a high converting affiliate sales page, or to a website first and then to the sales page from the website.

thanks in advance

This is the way I do mine. I first of all send ALL traffic to my squeeze pages, and after they have opted-in, I redirect them to the affiliate offer. Now whether the offer converts or not, I've already guaranteed that I would turn out some profit with the leads I built.

I have to agree with this. You want to definitely build your list first. You have to think long term. There are no valid get rich quick schemes.

Get in the habit of always promoting yourself first. This way, you can change offers and not affect your business.

Send them to a squeeze page. I've made money sending traffic directly to an affiliate offer, but you will make way more by capturing their info and following up with them. I was stubborn and didn't believe it until I really committed to it and the truth is, it just works better (more sales).

My top millionaire internet marketer mentors tell everyone not to send traffic to any site unless you own it.

I have happily taken that advice and been very glad I did.

Some people will buy right away however, most won't. So capture them to your list via your squeeze page and then you can tell them more about yourself and the great product over time. Of course, offer some value to them or else they will just unsubscribe.

Also, many times, my squeeze pages actually converted better than the other sales page and so I probably got sales I would've missed.

Not only that, people who buy from you once are more likely to buy from you again if they are happy with what you told them, so you can have continued sales.

Squeeze page that you own is where you should send your traffic.

If you are thinking about directing traffic to your squeeze page and capturing leads,
then by all means you should do that.

Another popular option is building a review website about the product you are promoting,
and then rank it in search engines, and send visitors from there to the sales page.

You guys didnt answer he's question.

Yes of course email capturing would be better...

    BUT!

you wanted to know if you should send the leads to the direct affiliate offer or to a website that would lead to the same offer?

Well that depends, If your traffic are BUYERS,somebody who is looking for a solution to their problem and willing to buy,Then it would be better to send them directly to an affiliate offer,You wont make a lot of money,But you will generate some cash.

You see In my opinion review sites are for ORGANIC SEO (for years to come and bla bla)

Direct Buyer traffic is for Direct Affiliate offer(the traffic is already convinced!)

Email list is for cash on demand(just like affiliate)+(a "buy again" buyer for "years" to come)just like review site + the super special bonus that you get that allows you to sell your own products even at 997$,And you will still generate sales!

    Hope i helped ya

    Hi,

In my modest opinion, you should send the traffic to the high converting affiliate sales page. Also, you can make a video upload it to YouTube and other video networks, then use it as a path to drive traffic to the website.

I do appreciate all of the comments and suggestions. This tread has given me some good direction on this question that has been haunting me for a while. There are always going to be some exceptions, but I can certainly see the value in the long term of building a list via a squeeze page.

When you have not did this before it can be a bit intimidating, but I have found a great resource online today that will help me through this process. I have read and appreciate all of the responses on my question.

Send them to a squeeze page, then after they opt-in, lead them to a page where they can download your freebie, and then underneath the download link, have a special offer waiting for them.

when we guest post or sydicate our articles in high traffic sites suited to our niche, we always send customers to a optin page that converts well, with a freebie making it easier for them to say YES to the offer.

We have been doing this for many years, and has been working well.

In my opinion, TRUST is the new currency of the world, and you can gain more trust by building a list and forming a relationship with them. That is what works for us, and I am sure it will work for your business as well.

Wherever the best content is, that's where you should send the traffic. Affiliate websites with tons of ads are garbage.

Lots of great tips here. Thanks! I may actually do some testing of traffic directly to strong affiliate pages with a proven high response rate. This can lead to some quick money, but I do intend to concentrate more on list building. I cannot go wrong doing this and it's a great long term business model.

Since I got the initial responses on this thread I have actually started the process of taking action on what I have learned from this. Very positive experience here on the forum!

Sending the traffic to your website first is ideal. It will be easier to market to them that way. However if your traffic are sure buyers as what the folks here say then it will be better if they can get the product right away by sending them to the direct sales offer.

It can be by using a review site, write review for the product then put this link pointing to "more" or "click here"

The thing is you need to make your visitors mind prepared to buy your products.

It will be a Hugh mistake for sending leads directly to Merchant site without collecting their names and email address.
Look at it this way if you offer them something interesting 'bait' in in-exchange for their email address, and they don't buy from you at that moment you can still contact them in the further. But if you send them direct to merchant site without collect their contact and at the end of the day they don't buy the product you have lost them forever. Remember "The Money Is In The List". Hope this help?

The single biggest IM mistake is to send people directly to the website or sales page without collecting their email address. I wish someone had told me this when I first started, but I had to learn it the hard way.

I spent 6 months working on my site and hiring a VA to help me along the way. Then I realized that my conversion rate was 0.05%. 99.5 out of 100 people left my site and I will never do buisiness with them again.

That was when I realized the importance of capturing the leads with an opt-in page. it is better to have an opt-in than a sale in the long run, because with an opt-in you can sell to him/her over and over again.

I sincerely hope that you don't make the same mistake I made. Think big, think long term, build a list!

    To your success,
    David

If you are sure that the traffic which you are sending to the sales page is extremely targeted then there is no harm doing that actually.

So you have to recognize your traffic well. That is the key.
