Prosper202 on Wordpress?

Is anyone still using Prosper202?

I've installed it and can get it running. Problem is that I'm trying to use it on a Wordpress site. I've found a plugin for it, but they don't seem to be playing together very nicely.

Wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience, and what the answer is.

And are there any other free tracking tools that play nice with WP?

Thanks!

Why in the world would you want to do that? P202 has its own interface, etc., and isn't even remotely related to WP...

    • Because the tracking code needs to be installed on a landing page.

My landing page was created in Wordpress.

I am confused as to what you are doing!!!Try making a sub domain and install prosper202 there. For example, domain: yoursite.com subdomain: subdomain.yoursite.com
Using your FTP transfer the prosper202 files to your subdomain and install prosper202 there. As for putting the tracking code on your landing page you just copy the code from prosper202 and paste the code in your landing page before the </body> tag

I am looking to answer this too, and you have both misunderstood OP.

Prosper202 asks you to paste some javascript code at the bottom of your page.

Unfortunately, with wordpress, you can’t put the javascript in the footer of the page without editing the wordpress template, and even then, the javascript will then be put on ALL the pages, which means you won’t be able to properly set up a different for each wordpress post for each of your landding pages in order to split test different copy, etc

A plugin was develped and work arounds suggested, but the plugin has not been updated since 2010 and the workaround from 2009.

I will keep trying things out and reply here if I work it out.

Did you try to put the Javascript into the specific post instead of footer? Technically it might work.

Not sure if the default wp editor strips Javascript from posts. If yes, using a different editor via plugin might help.

No idea if it is possible, but that's what I'd try out.

  • Just try something else. I wouldn't waste time on this personally.

First of all, you CANNOT install prosper202 on a subdomain. It needs to be on a main domain to function properly. Secondly, what I believe Benjy is asking for is a way to install the tracking script on single pages... instead of on every page.

There is a great plug-in that will do this easily.

Search wordpress plug-ins for hifi and you will find it easily.

** HIFI is a head injection and foot injection plugin. It allows you to inject <script>, <style>, <meta> and any other code you want into your posts and pages. The code injected is page-specific, this means that only the pages you want will be affected.

Give the plug-in a try and it should allow you to track the code properly. I use it all the time for Google analytics...

Prosper202 specifically says to get a separate domain dedicated to the program, otherwise you could run into problems with it.

So, get a separate domain, generate the code you need and then go into your page and insert the code in the HTML ...

Sorry, but this is flat out wrong information. You CAN install 202 on a subdomain, it works flawlessy. You CANNOT however install Prosper202 in a subdirectory. There is a huge difference.

      In other words:

      tracking.yourdomain.com is OK

      but yourdomain.com/tracking is NOT.

Not sure where your you got this info. But this is also not good info. I've got this setup:

      202.mydomain.com
      tracking.mydomain.com
      clicks.mydomain.com

All on the same hosting account. And I put LP's on mydomain.com/dating/

      It works perfectly fine.
