Getting Traffic - please help.

Hi All,

Been using DirectCPV for traffic - sent the hits to a page with a FB and Twitter share button on. Out of 3000 hits (on my awstats) there has not been one single subsequent facebook referal - meaning of course - no shares

I watched Chris Munch's stuff on viral marketing - and in it he teaches how to do a viral image, load it to a page, put on share buttons and then tells us how to go to StumbleUpon to advertise.

I spent hours and hours doing all this - sent the page into stuble upon and they refused it saying not enough content. So basically just bull.

Where can I get traffic to a graphic funny image with a FB share on it ?
Any advice would really be appreciated.

Regards
MrCoder

Direct CPV is PPV traffic that opens in a popup, which means you have about a quarter of a second to get that "visitor's" attention before they bounce. You are obviously targeting something wrong.

Show your targeting and landing page if you want real advice, otherwise, prepare for generic BS like "Test and optimize and deliver a clear call to action". You know. That kind of crap.

Hi this is a jpg of the landing page I sent out. I was taught by Chris Munch to keep it simple so I did.

I cannot post links yet - but that is the screen print. I subbed it in DirectCPV with URLs related to cats!!!

I don't think if you buy traffic, those traffic has any quality at all. Let me tell you that those paid traffic are useless. And try to find some alternatives to that.

    MrCoder,
I have done some testing with PPV TWICE a few years ago and both times lost, but pretty much close to breaking even. Specifically, I funded my account with $100, advertised a $19.75 product and got 6 orders w/1 refund. This comes to $98.75 on $100, so a loss of $1.25.
With this in mind, I still very much believe in PPV. If I had a better product that converted on average 7/100 instead of 6/100, and a lower refund rate, I may have been able to make a consistent profit, somewhere in the range of $120-$130 ROI on a $100 investment.
Also, I think you need way more than 3000 visits to really test the market. Please definitely let me know how you make out w/PPV.

I don't buy traffic. Make it yourself with on and off page SEO. Takes more time, but you know what you are getting and not flushing money down the toilet.

If you attended all the webinars you will remember that Stumbleupon was only one of a lot of methods suggested to get traffic.

Why not try some of the other methods suggested in the course.

I will try all methods - of course - but I seem to recall in the webinar Chris said it was one he liked to use to get things going.

So - given the straight up no BS fact that a low content page with a graphic, share buttons and a bit of code is refused flat out by StumbleUpon - how does he do it?

LOL - the fiverr gigs should be fun - I will post results. LOL

Regarding the PPV - this was not really an offer - so 3000 views does indeed give a good indication of success or failure.

The only call to action is a Share button - not even collecting emails.

I am wondering if the share code doesnt work on the pop up or something like that.

we do PPV, and you cannot just do it once and expect to hit a home run the first time. It takes some testing and mixing it up, sometimes you might have an idea, that sounds stupid but when you test it, it works like gangbusters.

So I say test some more, and see if that helps.

Two questions. Why are you sending them to a page where the call to action is to like your content? Seems like you would do better to get them on a list. You should be able to better monetize them this way and you can send them to your content to like it in your AR series.

The second question: Are you sure that you are measuring visitors to the page, or pops? When the ad pops, it doesn't mean that the person goes to your content page. It only means they see your ad, or at least have teh potential to see your ad, because they can choose to ignore it too.

You might also consider buying a high traffic site that is not generating alot of revenue (so cost of acquisition will be low) and placing banner ads for your site on the new site. Just make sure the site u buy is getting organic traffic.

Why are you trying to use Facebook to land you more sales as opposed to having your own website and building a list to market to over and over again... using free marketing strategies? (not social marketing strategies)

I've never had any success with PPV traffic...at least nothing to talk about. I found one offer one time that made me some money, but that's about it. Would love to learn more about this though, I know some people are making good money from it!

You expected people to stop whatever they were going to do and share this because . . .??? Why? What for? Because your were specific with your instructions and said "thanks"?

Chris Munch is a professional promoter/marketer and one hellava smooth talker with an optimized and targeted audience all ready to buy whatever HE makes the most money selling. He can't know whether 1,000 buyers will make money with what HE'S selling - that's their business. His only job is selling whatever converts the best for HIM and that's it. Nobody can sell you what works - you have to buy it.

Easier said than done. The more times you get sold, the less time you have to go out and find what works and buy that instead. Again, easier said than done. You spent hours doing what makes no sense to you because he said that's what works for him and that's the other main problem. Nobody can teach you how to get expert results - nowhere close - maybe 10% if you're lucky.

There is no such thing as "viral" traffic - 6 years and 6 million people later should tell you that's basically just bull too. Facebook supports app developers who keep users happy right where they are - on Facebook. If you want Facebook traffic, you need your own open graph enabled app with thousands of users - not some picture voting tab added to your page with a matching set of share buttons on your website.

I just made this page to explain that today - https://ogapp.com/alwaysshines/ Then I connected it with this https://apps.facebook.com/productioncarcare/ but nothing is finished yet so it probably won't make sense and that's another main problem. Doing everything Lone Ranger style takes too long and the results rarely pass mediocre. Your not-so-funny picture and my senseless apps prove that point!
