Here's a pretty good info-graphic that has 22 suggestions for creating content. It may help some that are having trouble coming up with something to write about.

One thing they didn't mention is becoming a favorite of mine: Find a popular/interesting Youtube video and write about it. Note I didn't say "transcribe it". Point out the best parts...It it's a "how to" guide or a recipe, write out the steps or ingredients, offer your own ideas, etc.

Are you talking about embedding the video, then describing it in your own words? I think that's a great way to add value to a blog. I did it just the other day:

Yep...But not limited to describing it...Add to it, explain something in better detail, add a tip or alternative way to do something, write a descriptive index for it, etc.

Pick a popular video, add AddThis buttons, your own content, maybe some
Adsense and/or an opt-in box and submit to the popular social sites and you have a chance your page will go viral.

If it goes viral, you can get traffic directly as well as build links to the page for SEO purposes, all from using Youtube videos to help create content.

IMO, if Youtube allows us to use videos (most of them anyway), why not embed them on your own pages, then point social traffic to YOUR pages instead of Youtube?

Great Article! I can see how this can help quite a bit. To add to the list, I love to read other writers when I get writers block. Blogs, magazines, books, anything to help feed them mind can help you find new and fresh ideas.

I occasionally limit my writing in various ways. This has a way of making your brain think in an unusual train of thought. Which limitations you go to will control what your final output is.

  I didn't find the 22 points that mind-blowing, but I was interested to examine why an SEO person would use an infographic, considering that they are sacrificing the benefit of words on pages.
  
  I know that these people aren't stupid, so I was looking for clues and it doesn't take long, not least because you chose to come to the forum and link to the page (nice infographics encourage organic backlinking - linkbait).
  
  I notice they've stamped the bottom of the graphic with the original URL and their branding (presumeably knowing that some will download and re-upload it without attribution.)

  I don't think that it's good to ask the readers what they want - It's my personal view.
  
  Most of the other seniors can deny my this view.
  
  But I personally feel this, readers don't know what they want. Most of them are ordinary people and they give you ordinary topics.
  
  If I can solve a widespread problem with new ideas then it'd be much better. My writing should make people understand/realize what they want. My thinking, views should always be million times better than my readers because I am writer.
  
  I seen so many great writers, I read their posts/articles without thinking that it's related to my problem. With their expert writing, they make me believe, in the end, that I have this problem I should solve it right now.
  
  I mean I don't realize my problem by my own self. Instead, they make me realize and acknowledge it. They dominate my mind and tell me those new things which I never expect.
  
  That's why I love them, and I frequently read their articles.
