Recap of Warrior Event 2012... and why you should go to networking events

This year's Warrior Event was another fantastic weekend of networking, learning, and good times.

For those of you that attended, you will probably agree. For those of you that did not attend, you missed out on some fantastic speakers, a red carpet party featuring Elvis, Russ Ruffino schooling Jon Bon Jovi, and lots of drunken marketers making deals at the bar.

Sam England and Brian Mcleod did a great job organizing this one. It ran smooth as can be, despite the fact that most people forgot to "spring forward"

If you have not attended a WF Meetup or any other Internet marketing conference, it is time to put one on your schedule. The number of JV partners you can make at 2am is astonishing!

Heck, even The Caleb showed up!

Here's some of what you would have learned...

Jason Fladlien opens his mouth on a bench in the parking lot and fifteen people immediately run over. This guy pukes valuable IM info in his sleep!

Brad Gosse convinced a room full of people they are all f'n awesome.

Brad Spenser talked a lot. (but not one mention of a deli!) love ya, man!

Mike Carraway stayed pretty sober.

Colin Theriot can write his ass off, but can't juggle.

Bryan Zimmerman looks weird without a hat on.

Mike Lantz has a sense of humor.

Jill Carpenter is my dream woman.

Chad Casselman oozes _________ (you fill in the blank).

And most importantly, ducks have cork screw shaped... well, just ask Jason Fladlien. He is now the official anything you want to know about ducks go to guy.

Again, you need to get out to an event. Lots of fun and money to be had by all.

I hear there's going to be another event in Orlando this autumn, so I'm shooting for that one.

Is it a Warrior Forum conference coming up in Orlando?

I was at the one in NC this weekend... and would LOVE to go to one in Orlando since that would only be an hour from where I live.

I was at the event this weekend and I couldn't agree more with EBR! This was my first event but certainly not my last. All you have to do is say Warrior Event to me and I will only ask two questions, when and where?

There really is no way to describe how fantastic this past weekend was and do it proper justice. One thing is for sure, the event had something for everyone no matter who you were. If you were brand spanking new, chances were good that you walked away having experienced more in one weekend than you possibly could in a year on your own. If you were an intermediate marketer that was stuck in a rut, you likely got your batteries recharged, got remotivated and met people that offered to help take you to the next level.

The JV opportunities were priceless and they were everywhere. I met someone in the first hour and began discussing the possibility of doing a huge launch in the near future. Besides the JV opportunities, the friendships made are simply phenomenal. The WF is a great place to be but the difference between surfing the forum and attending the WF event is like watching an NFL game on TV and going to see it live. There is a synergy at the live event that can't be duplicated by just logging on to the forum alone.

Also, the talks given by the speakers were incredible. Gold nugget after gold nugget was thrown out to the audience. The group was so hungry for this info that the follow up questions asked just ellicited more gold nuggets! The quality of speakers to begin with was unbelievable and they all seemed to act like someone was putting a gun to their head if they didn't give up the goods because they definitely did!

Finally, what can you say about Sam England and Brian McLeod's efforts to put this event on? These guys worked their a$$es off to make sure that this event was as good as it was. And let's not forget the tireless efforts of warriors like Jack Tackett and Wes Harrison doing whatever was asked of them. I am sure that there were many others too and my thanks goes out to all of their hard work. It paid off big time guys.

So, if there are any of you out there wondering if you should go to the next event this fall in Orlando, I have this to say. As far as I'm concerned, you can't afford not to go. It's that good.

Look forward to seeing everyone again this fall. I hear rumors that Brad Gosse may even bring Tommy Chong to the next event. Any truth to that Brad?
    Cheers,
    Jim

Sorry John, It's by invitation only and it's sent to us by Frank Kern. You mean you didn't get one?

Just kidding! Usually you can find a notice of an upcoming WF event in the
Local Meetings, Mastermind Groups, And Forum Events section.

Here is the thread for the recent event

    Here's what happened to me:

    Heckled Mcleod to no end.

Saved his ass and let him use my computer to get affiliates approved (Everyone was having a rough time getting online).

I met Shawn Casey, someone who was damn awesome and I had bought his stuff when I first started off around six years ago now.

Met Brad Gosse, he knew my name because of something stupidly simple I did (anyone can do it, not saying it here!)

Got interviewed on a few videos for peoples blogs.

Sang my face of on some Karaoke in the JVZoo party.

    Heckled Mcleod some more.

Met a TON of awesome people, including my new web designer.

That, and I made about $70-$80k worth of deals for this year.

Gonna be a REALLY good year for me any anyone else who went to the event and actually DID STUFF.

    You guys were all awesome.

Can't wait to crash the party in September.

Sean is very talented LOL I did not expect the event to be so much fun - I sort of thought people would be stuffy and cliquey and it was nothing like that - people we very nice and welcoming, even to new faces. So much took place, I did not even get to see it all, but whatever I did see will impact the rest of my year. Thanks to the organizers for a great event

First of all, for the benefit of readers that were not there, I was not the innocent girl being corrupted, though I was at the table, I was rather embarrassed and just waiting for it all to stop ... but I wanted to point out Rob, I recall someone else being fairly corrupted too when playing the "sheep" in another man's role-play. Ok, let me stop because that was like 2 minutes of a very informative and valuable event ... but gosh, why is it like the first thing I remember from the weekend?!

Yea, idk how those exotic dancers with the animal print outfits made it to the event - was pretty crazy ...

(My feeble attempt to divert attention away from my friend who I brought along to see what Internet Marketing was all about. She's still trying to figure it all out.)

Also, it was not "action" - just silly pictures for Facebook LOL tell the wife not to worry We're marketers so we push boundaries, I guess, LOL

What a great time. I felt sorry for the staff of the holiday inn!

Trivia: only Jack Tackett and I have been to all 4 of the official warrior forum events!

There were so many great people there to hang out with that I'm afraid to mention names without forgetting someone. I will say though that one innocent comment made to EBR changed my seminar experience drastically

I was lucky to go out to dinner with Maria Gudelis, Tina Williams & the sexy voiced Trish! I came in a day early and got to hang out that thursday night with Peter Garrety - he's awesome!

Got to hang out with the two rockstars Dr. Dan and rockstar Ben - those guys are awesome. Had fun doing Mario Brown impersonations all weekend Got to meet my sweetie Jill Carpenter!

Hung out with Liz, Jamie, Jeff and Mike... I laughed so hard I lost my voice.

Bill Guthrie was there, that dude is cool as hell. He saved me when the bartender gave my corporate credit card to someone else!!

Who else? Ron Douglas is always fun to chill with. Bryan Zimmerman and I argued on the music industry haha. Chad Casselman is such a legend. Conrad good to see how well you're doing since last year - Caleb I didn't even recognize you... Mike Cowles making cigarettes disappears never gets old.

Steve Odette good to see you again. Good to meet Mike Lewis and his wife for the first time... man I know I'm forgetting a ton of people who were there that I talked to. Carrie the Q and A queen, Val, Vivian, Wah, Bob, Brad Gosse... my step dad Mike Carraway and his son Brad Spencer... there were so many people there some I didn't even get to talk to some who I wanted to.

Heck I even bought an offer from one the speakers.

          See everyone in Orlando.

There were Impersonations of me and people making fun of my accent?

            How dare they?

            This is a Scandal !!!!!

I'm going to run a campaign in California, get to be Senator and then I'll clean up here, big time!

I had a damn awesome time at this event.

I'm an intermediate marketer who, while had certain successes, fell in a rut and went to my corner for a very long time. Once I realized it did no good to keep pouting there, I crawled out and started getting back on the forum, going back to the party... and once I found out the Warrior Event was taking place, I knew - in every fiber - I HAD to be there.

And I was. Even with lots of time, money, energy juggled with half-assed planning skills and luck of the draws, it was worth every f*cking bit of it.

Imagine going into a room packed with 150 people, every last one of them interested in the VERY dream you are, and discussing it right in front of your eyes... just a matter of picking a conversation. Walk up to any one of them, you're welcomed with open arms, the more they share with you the more you realize you want to give back, and THEN the whole Warrior spirit of sharing and giving is opened up before you. Ideas discussed, deals closed, friendships made, drinks to be had... all absolutely wonderful.

I met so many amazing people over there, many of whom are friends for life. All of them have outdone themselves. I'm out of my rut now - I know what I need to focus on, I know who I need to reach out to and give in return.

Even if life in Austin was the same when I left, I pretty much went to Narnia and back - sooooooo much has changed in that short amount of time, for the better. I'm grateful for every bit of it.

Just going to throw this out there as a possible video series... "Warrior's Gone Wild" I can show up with a camera, and then JV with some people with big lists. There is money to be made in that niche.

Standing round of applause to Brian and Sam and Jack (and everyone else who pitched in). Brian could easily have a second career as an events coordinator.

Thanks too to all the sponsors! Lots of great gifts went out to people.

I've already blocked out on my calendar the general time for the next one in Orlando.

It's really nice to see people face to face (even if their camera lens was a bit distorted in their avatar pics here )

I'm hoping to resolve that issue myself by the Fall. :p

I found it difficult to put myself to bed in the evening as the energy of the people around me was addictive.

Everyone genuinely felt like old friends I had known since college and I really loved meeting you all in person.

WTG Sam, Brian and Jack and all the other people who were so enthusiastic about helping! I'm so glad I could be a part of this and proud GetResponse was a platinum sponsor. A tip of my hat to all the great sponsors for this event! You have to admit, there was some great swag dolled out! Really glad that Jack won the iPad! Talk about karma rewarded!

I've never been to an event where the community was so appreciative. You people really blew me away! Thank you!

On a personal note...thank you to everyone for welcoming me and making me feel like family. Really, I was touched by the warmth and friendship offered!

I don't want to name any individuals (even though I really do want to!) for fear of missing anyone and I don't think I have to express my appreciation here to those individuals who went that extra mile to make me feel so much at home - you know who you are and you have a standing invitation to drop by Toronto anytime! I made some new friends and that's a major bonus!

I've passed along your feedback and suggestions to our team (Caleb, your iPad wish will be granted - I will keep you posted).

You bet we'll be there with bells on for the Orlando event this fall! EBR and I are trying to track down Jim Morrison for that one - we're pretty sure he's hanging out with Hendrix in South America looking for a word that ryhmes with orange.

thanks for sponsoring the Saturday Party, EBR! Kudos to Brian M. and Sam E. for successfully moderating the event and to George S. for reminding speakers about their time limits. High five to Jack too.

One of the best gatherings I've ever attended bar none! I even won one of the awesome prizes!

Met my mentors and motivated those who are really new to internet marketing.

The presentations were meaty and juicy, the crowd was cool, and the new bonds and friendships that I made are simply priceless.

If you've never been to the Warrior Forum event, you should be there!

I'm a naturally shy person but that didn't stop me from going out to lunch and "malling" with some popular forum members, driving 8 hours and sharing a room with a Skype buddy, being interviewed on video twice, and rubbing elbows with Rachel Rofe (oooops, sorry Dennis )

See you on the next one!

...It's honestly worth it to go wherever the warrior event is, I know people who flew in from the UK, people who came from Canada (like me), and it was worth every penny - and second it too to fly.

Distance should not be the excuse... It's better to have one event, then a bunch of "location events" around the US, that way you get to meet more then just people in your area.

      Just my opinion of course...

A week later and I'm still on the road, following the Warrior Event...(in the midwest right now). Can't say enough about WE Live. As one who wasn't sure about making the trip from California, I am so GRATEFUL to Sam and Brian, Jack, the speakers, the volunteers and all the Wonderful Warriors I got a chance to meet.

I met so many generous, open, sharing, helpful, encouraging and FUN people. What was coolest about the weekend was the ATMOSPHERE that was created by everyone coming together in person. There is simply no substitute for looking into someone's eyes and meeting them face to face!

I am in full swing taking action on what I learned, following up with people I met and still basking in the glow of Warrior Event Live....I am all in for next time!

So, you want family oriented near Disney or Vegas? That's pretty much as far opposite as you can get from one another! One has a giant mouse in a giant dress, the other has tiny hookers in tiny dresses.

Well the Vegas option could potentially work, although kids would likely enjoy Disney more (I would enjoy Vegas more) ... IDK there is fun kids stuff to do in Vegas too.

IDK about "hookers" - it was not what I was thinking when I thought Vegas, LOL this was where my mind was at:

The best part of the whole experience meeting some awesome warriors is that everyone was ridiculously cool.

If it's your first event (like it was mine) you don't know for sure how all the people you've seen on the forum and who's wso's you purchased will be in person.

Well, guess what...it turns out that everyone was just super laid back and great to talk to. Had some amazing conversations and great laughs. (To Mike Carraway and Rob Konrad: the refund product still has me randomly cracking up)

Huge thanks to Brian and Sam for hosting an awesome event.

Lots of fun and money to be had by all.
    any NYC events coming up??

I flew over to the event from my base here in Thailand and was really great fun, there was so many people and a lot I didn't get time to say hello to, time just went past real quick!

I agree though we should probably have the next one in Thailand or Australia!

Sam and Brian put on a great event this year... totally different kind of crowd from the past few years.

Jack is a rock star, as usual - Carrie, Judy and everyone did a super job of making sure all went well... even the time change smack in the middle of the event didn't seem to affect the flow and fun.

Meeting new friends and connecting with old ones, making new partnerships and filling the year ahead schedules with new possibilities - all great reminders of how important it is to get out of the cave and peel yourself from the computer to actually press-flesh and network in person whenever you get the chance.

There is just something different in the dynamics of meeting folks in the flesh.

Too many to name here and I don't want to forget anyone...

Jason Fladlien - great to connect again man, so... did you tell Tellman you found his beard? Are you going to shave your head next or grow it Anthony Aires early marketing life style? The only phase I seem to be going through is the "how much fatter can I get and still be recognized by old friends..." phase... I think if I could grow a beard, that would be better - damn genetics.

Caleb - dude, you are MUCH taller than I had imagined... great to meet you in person. Shoot, I forgot to have you sign my t-shirt. Bahahahaha!

Winebuddy - always good to hang with a guy who likes to laugh and have a good time - noticed the water in the wine glass this year at times - then the wine... then the water.. then the wine... I mean, I know your pretty dang good at the marketing thing and all but... water to wine also?! Sweet! Can't wait for the e-book on how that can be duplicated my friend.

Judy - great to meet you in person, I think I need a fashion statement next year also, you were the easiest person in the crowd to find... there is a marketing lesson in there somewhere I just know it (you're a trooper for coming out despite the challenges and it was great to see you at the event, btw).

Sam - man... your like the Ever-ready Battery Bunny - two words buddy: less sugar. Bahahaha!

Brian McLeod - and you manage to keep Sam in check how? Great MC'ing of the event man, always super to hang with you, learn from you, catch up on things. You're one of the good guys man... want Rapid Residual Pro to be a sponsor for the Orlando Event?

James Campbell, David, Stephen Luc - very cool meeting you all finally - top notch guys with a lot of value to bring. Great conversations, looking forward to many more.

Mike Schwenk (great chatting - good copywriters like you always a good connect!),
Bob Costello (looking forward to seeing your offline lead generating software rock it man!)

Lina and Goya (beautiful and incredibly intelligent, talented and engaging to talk with - looking forward to getting your feedback on the themes for Rapid Residual Pro) although it seems I missed the best conversations you had with everyone... hmm, pictures?

Sarah G. (best conversations I've had in a long time - if only my college professors had been so beautiful, incredibly intelligent and hypnotic to talk with... and, I'm looking forward to your new programs launching soon!),

Willie Crawford - great conversations about ethics in marketing and it was an education just watching you network with folks.

Dr. DAN... sorry to have been in the group to mistake you for Dr. BEN - maybe a different hat next time? lol...

Liz Tomey - both you and your husband - great to talk with you and catch up on what's new, what's coming... pretty exciting, can't wait.

Heather - "Nookie" is going to get a whole new vibe soon, isn't it? You're like Sam, just a whirlwind to try and keep up with!

Mike Lewis and Wife - your books are fantastic, what a great business model! Truly enjoyed talking about the real estate debacle - good to see other entrepreneurs reinventing themselves so successfully - from $100M real estate empire to online empire - you raise the bar for the rest of us.

And, so many others - if you have an opportunity to go to these events, take the time to go. Character building, educational and perception altering... to say the least.

Only complaint I have is that there wasn't enough time to hang with everyone - so many people to meet or catch up with it was a blurr... well, and some folks you just had to wait in line to get their autograph too long - kinda like those rides in Disney... JOKING!

Can't wait for the next one Sam and Brian - thanks for putting on such a super weekend for all of us.
Everyone was very cool, approachable, fun, down to earth and great conversation.
