I don't have much experience with the site flipping thing, but I've read many times that you can charge as much as 12 times the monthly income the site makes, providing you can prove the income.

You are almost making more than $1000 net every month. I wouldn't sell it unless it is an emergency. After all you can increase the income, having said that look for similar sales in sitepoint to get an idea.

Based on my own and other peoples observations, site with quite a high income such as yours generate a lot of interest in the marketplace. It's quite possible that site would go for a lot more than 12 times it's earnings.

This is particularly the case if, as the other poster pointed out - 1) You can prove your earnings (which I assume you can), and 2) The site has been acheiving those earnings for some time.

As an analogy, if you were to buy a Sausage Factory, and the owner told you it made $1000 Dollars last month, you would probably want to know what it had made over the last three years right?

The site would still sell if it had only just reached that level of earnings, it would definately have more value if those earnings were consistent.

This is something to bear in mind if you decide to hold onto it. You will be generating a monthly income, and if you can maintain those earnings, you will be building value into the site all the time, because you are building a history of earnings.

    Hi,

Flipping refers to the practice of buying or making a site for the purpose of selling it. If you have had a site for a long period of time and decide to sell it you are not flipping it.

It relates to the practice in real estate of buying a house low and selling it low or high to realize a fast profit. You flip the house when you sell it after buying it for the express purpose of selling it quickly.

    .....for a profit of course.

pbk It generally refers to the act of building a website, probably building some traffic and revenue, and then selling the website for a profit.

      hi georger

yes my traffic is mainly from adwords , arbitrage works- you just have to hit the content network not the search- also forget dieting and all those high paying niches - go for VOLUME - trade 1 cent clicks for 5 cent clicks the ctr works out at 30-50 percent, believe it or not i sometimes get a 120% ctr on some of my pages - there was a time i had to stop the campaign as i was afraid google would ban me for that rate!

as for my traffic stats i get around 800 - 1200 visitors a day which translates to about 2000-2700 page views ( i used to get triple that but i had to cut back on my credit card spend)

you know what else is crazy??? - i get clcks for less then a cent ...honest and for true (flame suit on)

      p.s.

it also is a big advantage if you speak more than one language....

Nice, I would keep it, that is nice residual income. Unless you got a great offer. Also if you had something that you could invest some of the profit back into. Maybe another site, it depends on a few factors in my eye. Hope I helped in your decision a little.

Would need to see the site, but I wouldn't settle for anything less than average monthly revenue x 12. Otherwise, you are better off keeping it. Even then, I'd have my doubts unless you needed the money.

I would say you should get 10-12 months revenue which comes to about 15k-18k BUT you are only getting 250-300 visitors a month so that is a MAJOR drawback. If you were getting that many visitors a day and the traffic was coming from high ranking on the SERPS then you would get much higher. Personally, I would not pay near that amount for it due to the aforementioned reasons.

hey marhelper do you mean you would only consider the FREE traffic that comes up to 250-300/month and you wouldnt consider the 1000-2000 visitors that viasit my site via adwords - im just trying to get insight here

Google does not like arbritrage and have terminated the adsense accounts of many people for it in the past. Therefore, I do not think any experienced buyers would take a risk with your site.

    http://www.jensense.com/2007/05/18/g...s-of-june-1st/

Nobody knows how Google detects arbitrate and it could be just luck that you have not been detected and have your Adsense account terminated so far.

Given that, I would place the valuation at only a few months' revenue. Therefore, it would probably be best that you keep it.

I think folks might be scared off by a site that uses arbitrage and gets a bulk of it's traffic from AdWords. People looking for sites to buy usually want something a little more hands off or a site with a product like an ebook. All wrapped up and ready to go without having to manage PPC campaigns and all that good stuff. But the only way you will know is by putting it up for sale.

$900 net x12 = $10,800. So put it up for sale with a 11K BIN. But you'll need to have income proof beyond screenshots for that bad boy.

Keep us posted. I'm interested in selling sites so it would be interested how it work outs for you.

        hi alan,
i figured the same as there was the "great google arbitrage purge of 06" however ive had some sites since then that are still doing great - as far as the ppc campaign it wouldnt have to be managed - its a 1 cent click on per visitor - the roi is a no brainer any other ad would be more than 1 cent -if someone were to buy the site i would turn over the campaign all theyd have to do is check on thier adsense vs adwords roi every few days..i have gone through days not checking my accounts to find theyre all still profitable i appreciate the insight though as that was my biggest fear people thinking "arbitrage" = Ban
