Blogger + Adsense = FRUSTRATED!

21 replies
No im not promoting my blog.

Im just after a little help.

Im trying to create "In Between Post Ads". So i want to see those little adsense ads come up in between my posts. Blogger has a function which allows you to do this. I have enabled and saved it but still no luck.

Check it out here.

Im thinking it may be because of my 4 column template???

          Can't you just go to your layout tab and add a gadget (for adsense) then move the gadget to right under your post? I think that should do it. You might need to make sure you don't show more than 3 posts per page or you might have too many ads showing.

            No you cant just drag them under your posts. blogger has the function of allowing you to do this as i already said in my OP but it dont seem to work for me. I really dont want to have to change my layout.

            Does anyone know if its my layout which is preventing the adsense between posts to show?

                  Google has a limit on how many adblocks you can show on a page. You already have 3 Google adblocks showing. Could that be the problem?

    To add more "Gadget" boxes under header:

    Under "layout" click "Edit HTML".

    Click the "Expand Widget Template" Box.

    Scroll down until you come to the section that looks like this;

    <div id=' header-wrapper'>
    <b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='1'

    Change the maxwidgets to whatever you want then move over to the right at showaddelement='no' change that to yes

    Save template. Go back to layout, page elements and you will see new gadget boxes that you can move down above the post between the header and the post.

    To add the Adsense between posts:

    "Layout", "Page Elements"

    The big block that says "Blog Posts" click "edit" then a window will open that says "Configure Blog Posts" you will see a line of check boxes.
    Go down the boxes until you see "Show Ads Between Posts" click that box.

    That will open up another smaller window to "Configure Inline Ads".

    Hope that helps.

    Susan has definitely got the answer. Google will only serve ads to 3 blocks on your page. Once it has done that, it ignores any other blocks. Take the blocks off the side if you want them to show elsewhere.

    It doesn't make sense to have so many blocks on your page anyway. What you want are the top paying ads. That's why some people say you should show only one ad block on the page. By the time you show 10 or more ads on your page, you're probably showing 5 cent ads.

    Pearson,

    Yes you're right. Also, I have found that the best place for the ad is below the header and above the post with the 300 x 250 rectangle but taking the actual Adsense code from the account and not using the Blogger Adsense Gadget for that block.

      Hi

      i cant possibly reply to all the replies so here goes;

      Firstly to Susan. No, i have only just recently added these ad blocks to the right hand column and am not using these when trying to install between post ads.

      Matthew, yes if you go back to the start and read my OP plus my other posts(not being a smart ass, sorry about the way it sounds) you will see that this is exactly what i have tried over and over again.

      Im not getting any help from google help centre(google customer service sucks!). so if anyone has any other ideas please help. Otherwise ill lat you all know how i go.

    What on earth was the point of showing us a website that was changed from the one you were having problems with?

    GoinDeep,

    Have you waited a while after implementing changes? Some times it takes a little while for Google to catch up with your changes.

    I believe I read at the Google Adsense forum that it can take several hours for ads to appear after changes. Especially if you are putting your Adsense code into the blocks by hand.

    Hi,

    All this is one more reason to stop using Blogger and get the hell over to Wordpress: it's so user friendly and allows you (almost) anything you want with your blog. I even make my 'normal' websites on Wordpress themes nowadays, so I can use all these plugins. Makes your life as an internet marketer a lot easier.

    Yours, wordpressly, Ed
