Confused about List Building

All over the net you see "The Money is in The List" And how you simply need it to get the kinda money you want from the internet.
There are probably other ways to earn without a list, but the list building seems like fun to me and i want to test it out

Here are some questions i have about list building:

Should i have 1 list per niche or make all my different niche sites have opt-in to the same list?
Will people opt-in on a pure "adsense site"? (just so i can get more people on my list)
Is List building to get bursts of sales when you need it or does it have other opportunities?

    You absolutely want one list per niche. This is because you want to be targeted in your emails. You wouldn't send offers about weight loss to people interested in gaining weight. These two will be in different lists.

      This is exactly what I was going to say. An email going to the wrong potential client is a waste of time for everyone involved.

    No one will opt in to an adsense site. You're going to need to offer people a good reason to give you their email address. Try offering a free report. Maybe one about making money with adsense.

    I don't think you'll be able to find a Mentor who will work with you for free, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

    1. Never mix your lists. Partition your lists as much as possible even in the same niche. If your a beginner you don't have to do this just keep niches separate. THIS IS A MUST !

    2. No. Adsense site is for adsence income. If you want to build a site that gets SEO traffic to build a list then create high quality authority site and provide good useful information. People will sign up.

    3. Main purpose of a list is to have a FREE and direct line of communication with a market. You serve the market and get rewarded for it.

    Offtopic Answer:
    True mentors will either charge you 5 figures or mentor for free because of long personal relationship. Anything else is waste of time or money.

    You can do a product launch to get that burst of sales. You sent out a mass email to all your clients saying you have a new product available and tell them to buy it. That's the burst effect.

    Alternatively, this is the most popular method, you send your product to each and every person why subscribes to your list and earn 'residual' income that way. Example: when they subscribe, you send them 5 emails to get them interested and then the 6th is the product. Do that to all your subscribers and, depending on when they subscribed, you can earn a constant income (if you're constantly getting new subscribers).

    Mentors are a joke. You are your own mentor. All the information you need is out there and is free. If there's anything you are unsure about, don't ask a mentor, post a new thread and ask the whole community - that's how you learn.

    as said above you def NEED TO SEGMENT your lists based on interests

    you dont EVER just want to start one IM list otherwise you wont know what your list is interested in

    rather than build a list around just IM look at it like this:

    Internet marketing - affiliate marketing - adsense

    so even having a list around affiliate marketing is still not good because its still too broad

    you do also need either a personal blog which you brand yourself from or an authority site which does the simliar type of thing. Drive traffic to these areas and you can build your list from there

    you cant just put an opt in form on a adsense sites it will never work

    having a list is the best asset you can build but if you dont build it properly and set your sales funnels up effectively then your going to be losing a lot of income and wasting a lot of time

    Hi there,

    Never just have one list, for money making you need a targeted list.

    If your site is pure adsense with no decent content don't expect to build a list.

    List building can bring you bursts of sales if your list is responsive but you should provide a mix of content and promotion so you dont piss people off.

    My advice:
    Add decent content to your site, create a nice optin form offer a freebie for signing up, use your auto responder.

    Use seo to bring traffic to your site, Use adsense lightly more content than adsense.

    You should have at least one list per niche. You may even want to subdivide them within a niche.

    In general, as long as you use a proper autoresponder, the more accurately you segment your lists right from the start, the better: doing it this way is pretty much "all advantages and no disadvantages".

    It's easy to send out email to "all the people on both these lists but no duplicates to the people on both".

    I think not enough to make it worthwhile (and their "subscriber-quality" may not be worth talking about, either). But I may be wrong, and I don't use AdSense, myself.

    It has other opportunities, too. The most significant one, financially, is perhaps "relationship-building", because that's the underlying basis of almost all the sales you'll ever make.

    The reason I'm asking why a Mentor costs money is that i have none to spend (that's why I'm trying to make some cash on the inernet)
