How 'true' are your success stories?

Hi have been seeing lotsa posts lately about people making their first $100 or $1,000000 online. Sure, makes for good reading, but sometimes makes people wonder..did you really make that $$, or are you just trying to attract attention? Just my opinion...

It is very much possible to earn money online...however, it is not a very easy proposition either. Online as in offline -- scams are everywhere so we ahve to be careful.

As for me, I earned my first online money in forum posting job and right now with Uploading/Downloading business.

well.. a lot of them are lies or scams. The tell you they make 100.000 bucks a month to buy their ebooks, so they can really earn 100.000

but what I hate most is when they use falsification of the ckecks they find on google images.

Sure.. there are people they make big bucks online.. but keep in your mind one question : WHY someone need to share a big bucks idea that works so good for them ?. Yeah, the answer is simple : the idea is not working so well as they say

My claims are all BS - I never say how much I really make.

When I say "I made $3k in 24hours" - I usually made much more and it usually took less time to come in, but there are people who still don't think it's possible so I try to use examples they'll believe.

The fact that I made $100k on ONE DAY from ONE SALE is more than some people can get their head around.

Unfortunately I'm lazy and I don't do much so my revenue is up and down depending on what I'm doing so it's never the same anyway.

I completely disagree with that. I do give away a lot of free advice, my website has a ton of free advice on how to write press releases, but when I develop a way to consistently make money online, I can write an info product about it and generate an additional income stream.

This takes me about 2 days of work to do, because I don't have to do any research. I feel completely justified in doing it and in charging money for it, because I am telling people how to repeat a process that I did, that I know will work to make them money.

My Twitter Goldrush book, which took me a couple of days of effort, has sold close to a thousand copies now at $7, and it was very minimal effort for me to write it. Yes, I make most of my money selling press releases to clients that I find on Twitter, but why would I not seek out additional income streams? I am confident that within a year's time that little ebook will make me $10 grand. Not every info product I create will have that same level of success, but having a stream of info products like that over time can really add up.

I agree with Dana. You can spend your time researching thousands of niches and keywords and all ..be an aff to hundreds of sellers and...go crazy implementing all of it yourself..or you can describe the technique vai ebook which you sell. Which is easier?
On the other hand, there are a lot of claims out there that are bogus. In fact I get put off when I see the pics of the clickbank statements or the pics of the fancy cars and mansions which look really vulgar.

I think a lot of people just trying to attract attention to sell their products. I believe a lot of them don't make any money or a lot less as they show us in their sales letters.

      Hey

Yeah Im with Dana on this one !!

Are you saying that no one should be selling info products ??!! LOL

Where would an marketer be if thewy followed that rule?? Cant see how it would be a business.. When a lot of the actually business is through either selling ones own info product or others as an affiliate

Maybe im missing the point if so sorry

As most have mentioned, I think you gotta be wary about what you see and believe ... Me persoanally I do state what I earn but thats on the basis of my whole blog business model is all so others can see everything I do and how I do it. The income reports for me are part of that

I guess at the end of the day it is the writter of any statement that has to know what they are putting is either truth or B.S ... Cant see the point in lying although its clear others do

Trouble is if you give it away NO ONE follows it and uses it... I'd rather get paid $197 a pop and see the success people are having by actually using my products...

I made enough this week to buy a coffee and a biscuit... anyone who tells you they earned enough to buy a bus ticket is lying.. they're all scamming you..

    EVERYone is lying

Learn, Do, Teach... One income stream

Learn, Do, Teach/Sell... Two income streams

Leverage the Learn, Do, Teach... multiple income streams...

THAT is how I bought my coffee... beautiful, ain't it?... the biscuit came from funds sent via a donation button on my blog.

    Peace

I think it says a lot about someone on how they conduct themselves to make a living. Telling lies just for marketing services is everywhere. I'm just glad at the end of the day when I see what I've made that I can sit back feel good about, knowing I've been strait up.

Most of their claims are too good to be true. What a pity that some people need to lie in order to earn. I hope people are wise enough not to believe their BS.

Some are true and some aren't. Mine is and you can see for yourself if you search for my site name......it's on the front page!

Have I made a load of money? No! But then again, I've just started and I'm not marketing as such. I'm happy though, because when that first dollar arrived, it was a great feeling.

Maybe it's just because I've been in this business for quite some time, but I usually feel like I can easily tell the difference between a true income claim and a bogus one.

After writing my most recent sales letter last week, I commented to my wife, "this sales letter makes our lives sound way more awesome than they really are", but every word in the sales letter was true! I do work from home, I do set my own hours, and I do travel the world with my family and work from anywhere I please. Once I got it down on paper, it made me realize how truly blessed I am.

I'm no millionaire. I live in a small house in the suburbs, I drive a 7-year old car, and I work in my basement, but I make enough to work completely for myself and travel the world with my family every few months, and for now, I am completely satisfied with that. I think it's too easy for us to focus on the negatives in our own lives and overlook how great things truly are.

Anyway, I have no problem with sales letters including income claims if they can back them up, but it's usually pretty easy to see if an example check has been fabricated, and if someone includes an obvious lie like that in their sales letter, you can guarantee that their product is crap. If their product was worth buying, they would have no need to lie to get it to sell.

Don't worry about others success stories and concentrate on your work at hand. I can absolutely guarantee that you won't make any money if you buy e-book after e-book after e-course after video course and don't implement what you're learning.

Do people exaggerate and down-out lie about their success--absolutely! It's very simple to fake income proof like from ClickBank--no photoshop needed.

Do people really make money online--absolutely! Millions? Sure some do. But I believe most make enough to live a good life without having to get a real job with a boss. I've been boss-free since March 2007.

As to those terrible people like Dana who sells info products when it should all be free...yeah right! She picked up a skill, saw their was an interest in what she knew, she wrote an excellent report, sold it, and has made some nice moola to boot. Customers are happy (I bought it). SHe's happy. And there you have it...that's the "secret" to making money online right there. It's right in front of you. Now go do something about it.

Half an hour ago, a guy offered me to be my personal coach for making money online. He guaranteed that I'll make $2000 per month, within weeks, if I pay him $500 for coaching.

"Can I see some proof?" - I said

"Sure. Look, I've just made $200 today"

He then sent me a totally cropped screenshot of a what seems to be paypal account which indeed says that $200 was received. However, all the rest of the stuff was painted over.

"Dude. My dad just sent me $100 for some groceries on PayPal :/"

    Blah.

Are we talking about people blowing their own trumpet?

That happens a lot here unfortunately.
My Dad told me this when I was a kid and it has stuck with me ever since.

If you are any good at something, I mean real good, other people will sing your praises, you do not have to.

People that post how they did this and they did that, well, they occupy the lower rungs of the respect ladder in my opinion.

Let others piss in your pocket. You keep doing what it is that makes them do it.

PS: Any grains of salt here

Most of the success stories flying around are scams and lies aimed at deceiving people into buying e-books. In most cases, people who claim they earn thousands of dollars actually earn nothing. It is just a marketing gimmick.
