Email Marketing "Followups" Strategy WSO?

I feel like someone has built a somewhat of a blueprint for great formats on followup emails for an email list. Does anyone know of a book, ebook, or wso that exists with this information in it. If there is more than I'm asking in a product, please let me know, I could use all the information possible. I finally see the potential in email marketing, and want to get into it correctly.

I would say there is plenty of free information out there.

I would consider myself 'OK' at email marketing and I have never paid for a course or for any information on it actually.

It's a great insight into the reality of email marketing for several different perspectives.

There's a little 'heat' on the thread but don't pick sides based on what you want to believe -- keep an open mind.

That was a great email. I will have to say I would never send more than bi-weekly, and only if necessary. I get annoyed with 3-4 emails per day, it's ridiculous. Some people on here do it. But the information I got from them on day one was worth a few junk mails.

I guess I'm looking for a way to build up products. How to create a need for them. I'm pretty good at getting in the shoes of my clients, and knowing what they may need, but I feel like maybe I'm missing something? Also what's a really good way to build an email list?

What do you always treat as junk?

    Hi
Great points made. Just a quick question. Email marketing mainly comes from customers who have ordered from your website and youve kept a record of their mail account? Is it possible to find emails another way to provide them with your company websites but the emails will relevant like sale and what their interested in and not just random spam?

Well, they have to sign up for your email list on a website, or through facebook, even some other social sites. You have to respect the CAN-SPAM act, which if you google is all pretty simple stuff, just making it so if they need to contact you, or leave your list they can.

AWeber is #1 as of now. There are some featured I hear on other ones like MailChimp that have pros and cons. I understand how it all works, I'm just not sure of strategies.

  • Hi Kange
There are online database providers which sells email database for a specific industry.
There are other free methods also from which you can create your email lists below are some:

    • Ask those you meet at networking events and at trade shows.
    • Partner with a related business or organization.
    • Include a "Join My E-mail List" link at the bottom of your e-mail signature.
    • Promote your e-mail communications in all printed materials (including your business cards).
