You Probably Couldn't Make This Convert Either

I've got a small "retail" page I threw up for my mother who specializes in gluten free cookies. The address is at: Gluten-Free Grandma deluxe gourmet baking mixes, the best gluten-free cookies available I'm curious how you think the best way to approach something like this would be and tips for getting this kind of site in particular to convert. So far there have been zero sales but I also have not pushed it that hard since I have had no time. I have been sparingly putting out articles to drive traffic however so I'm sure lack of traffic is playing a role. But are there any immediate ideas you have about improving the site for converting? Thanks!

I just did a quick keyword search for gluten free cookies

    gluten free cookies

55 searches (top 100 only)SearchesKeyword55total searches15gluten free cookies7gluten free chocolate chip cookies recipes6gluten free peanut butter cookies6gluten free shortbread cookies4gluten free oatmeal cookies3gluten free cookies made in england3how to make gluten free chocolate cookies3lemon ginger gluten free cookies2ginger gluten free cookies2gluten free chocolate chip cookies2gluten free sugar free oatmeal cookies2pamela's gluten free cookies

As you can see, not a ton of daily traffic. So you're in a very specialized
    small niche.

Having said that, if you write articles, submit them to Ezine Articles, stress
the benefits of gluten free cookies in them and then have a strong call
to action to your site (I assume you're selling cookies or recipes) I have
no doubt you'll make some sales. A lot? I doubt it with such a small
    niche but..

There are only 218,000 competing sites for that phrase. So it's not like
you have a ton of competition either.

Will it be easy? No, but it can be monetized.

Personally, I wouldn't tackle a niche with this little volume, but that's just
a personal choice. The numbers show that it's not hopeless.

"Delivery in 1-5 weeks" might be a tough sell to the internet crowd, IMO.

        The cookies look yummy...

I would get a picture of grandma on the first page, maybe in her kitchen. The concept needs to be personalized. Home-made cookies. Don't just put up a few cookie photos, sell the grandma! (not literally ).

I agree that delivery 1-5 weeks should probably be kept to the order page.

And go for "food intolerance" keywords as well as just the "gluten-free" ones.

        Good luck.

Sorry don't want to be rude here Steven.

But in that post when I seen you said you did keyword research I had to do a double take at the screen. No, I had to do a triple take.

Been watching your post for couple years now and didn't think keyword research was your thing lol.

      Life is great,

Terry, it was just a quick look to see what traffic was like in one keyword
        phrase.

Naturally you'd have to go more in depth, starting with "gluten free" but
since she specifically mentioned cookies, I went there first.

While I am not an expert keyword researcher, my own keyword research
for my own products and the affiliate products I promote allow me to earn
a 6 figure income each year, so I must not be all that horrible at this.

        But thanks for your concern.
