How To Attract AFFILIATES As A Vendor For An Ebook Product? Affiliates & Vendors Please Take A Look!
Where to begin? I have a few things I would like to address, ask, and get feedback on…from both a vendor specific perspective, and separately, an affiliate specific perspective.
The centralized gist of it all, is that a cherished professional friend of mine is a vendor for an affiliate network, with a few products out now. I am personally an affiliate (I don’t create my own products), and have sold competitors’ products, and my pal’s product.
From my own personal experience, and from knowing the vendor and getting to see the inner workings of the product as well; I have come to know that their products do sell well, when they are promoted. I am talking about faster conversion rates, so it’s not a tough product to sell.
In any case, this vendor was very good at selling their own products on their own, they wanted the full commissions. But it has come to a place where the smartest move in their business at this point IS to attract affiliates on purpose.
I say on purpose, because the vendor had naturally attracted affiliates, who probably maybe wanted to test the product, or who were interested in that specific niche, or who wanted a different product to promote etc… So affiliates had come on their own.
But natural attraction is still not strong enough in this case, and I now would like to know how to actually attract affiliates on purpose. How does a vendor get their attention, where would a vendor even go to do that?
Do affiliates want to be approached, and how can I tell if someone is an affiliate, or if they are a vendor (creating and selling their own products)?
I have looked around, and I am not too sure myself, because all of the products I have promoted, were word of mouth, or were given to me to test. So as an affiliate on a personal level, I have not had to really go through the ringer to find successful products.
I am also not sure about attracting affiliates, because I am aware of affiliates who only sell 3 figure products, some who only sell 4 figure; and some who simply go for the mass effect. It depends on their marketing methods; so then should the marketing funnel to affiliates be narrowed down, or left open?
Ideally, if I were a vendor myself, I’d probably want all of the above on my team, just due to the diversity, and I believe the vendor I speak of here, has plans that could fit all kinds of affiliates into the mold….from the numbers games, to the big buying catches.
I am thinking that I may be asked why the vendor themselves does not just approach the Warrior Forum directly, but as I have mentioned, this vendor originally relied on their own hard work to do it all, but as we all know here, there is only so much that one human being can do.
Businesses have to grow, eventually we have to include others in our business modules, and help better automate things if we truly want a sustainable business.
So here I am actually asking, for the advice of affiliates and vendors, and how they would like to be approached, where they could be approached; what they would like to see… all those kinds of things.
Even though I am an affiliate, as I said, I can’t even begin to answer those questions myself, due to the fact that I promoted products which were brought to my attention by those who I had a personal business relationship with….
To give a bit of perspective, Trey Smith released a list of the 50 most profitable products they had tested, and within this list was one of this Vendor’s products, near the top of that list.
So it seems people are slowing becoming aware of it, by self-testing; however as I said, how would one actually purposefully go about making people aware of it, or asking for consideration to promote or test from affiliates?
Another thing I could mention, is that these products are fairly new, I’m not talking about a release only a day ago, but they have been out a maximum of a year and a half.
Also I am wondering whether or not the network matters as well? There are lots of networks, and maybe affiliates get used to their networks; so what if this product is not in their network either?
Any advice or consideration here would be greatly appreciated; as this vendor has done so much for me; I would like to be able to return just anything to them now, as I know they have been hit a bit hard by the reality of how much the “one man show” can disappoint.
On a final note (in case anyone starts asking), I did not specify this person’s product or name here, because I am not blatantly trying to advertise for such, but rather, I am trying to find out how that works for affiliates and vendors; on a few levels.
I am trying learn how it can be done, or what would help it occur. I greatly appreciate anyone’s feedback here… and if you are an affiliate or a vendor, I would greatly appreciate any lessons or advice, or tools you may have on hand for this post.
Again, thankyou, and it just would mean a lot to me; and I apologize for the excessively long post.
Sincerely,
PowerEdge
