Hello, I am wondering if a squeeze page needs a domain name? I am not sure how to use a squeeze page, any info would be appreciated. As you can tell I am new to this, just learning the in's and out's of IM.

Its best if your squeeze page has a domain that you purchase and host. I use optimize press to make building squeeze pages much easier. It might be better for you to use a squeeze page building tool to help get past the technical barriers.

You use squeeze pages to give away a free gift that builds trust with your subscribers. The main point of the squeeze is to collect the email so you can communicate with your prospect over time to build trust and deliver value that will lead to higher conversions.

Well, it is definitely advised to have your own domain name for a squeeze page. Free domain names won't cut it.

You can create endless squeeze pages under one niche domain (create folders in your hosting account), but the domain has to be yours.

    Cheers,
    Ray

It's not neccesary you could do them all under one domain, but I personally purchase a new domain for every page.

But you are you, not me. So do what ever you feel is the right thing.

    You have 2 options:

    1. Unique domain and place the squeeze page on the domain - Better for search engine results. If you are going to do some link building this is the way to go

    2. Subdomains or pages of a website - You can drop a squeeze page here too. We work with a lot of real estate people who do this. They use print advertising to send traffic to the pages to build buyers list and things like that.

I think in most cases it's best to get a domain for the squeeze page. It's only a few bucks for the year for the domain. Then you can do some SEO work on it and get it ranked high for free traffic.

    I hope this helps.

I know Aweber does host a squeeze page and thank you page for you. That is if you don't mind the url that looks like forms.aweber.com/form/yy/xxxxxxxx.htm.

Obviously if you have a page that provides a special message or you need a download page, that isn't going to cut it.

agreed with having a domain name for your squeeze pages. its just more authoritative. optimizepress and profits theme are great for these (with tons of other features) but they're a little pricey if you're just starting out. look around for themes/plugins to help get you started

I got the impression from your post that you're an absolute beginner so I'll start at the very beginning. (Sorry if this is annoyingly basic)

A squeeze page is a page on your website that has one specific purpose - to convince visitors who land on your site to input their email address (and name if you want) to a box on the page so you can "capture" their email address and have a way to contact them in the future.

To pull this off you'll need a couple of things:

    1. A place to store the website. You can use a free web hosting service but if you're planning to build a long term business then you'll want to use a paid service (like hostgator) so you build an asset YOU own

    2. Domain name (eg WarriorForum.com) which you can purchase from a domain registrar like Namecheap.com.

    3. An Autoresponder, which is a tool that generates the code you'll need to create the opt in boxes (which is where your visitors will be able to input their name and email address). The service I've seen recommended most often is GetResponse.com (paid). If you're not planning to sell internet marketing products, then you can get a similar service from Mailchimp.com. They have a free plan that should be good enough for you to start with

    4. A way to build the squeeze page

Instead of buying a desktop software or hiring a web developer to build a website, a lot of people use a free online based platform called Wordpress (which actually comes standard with many hosting packages. It's very easy to customize the look of the site with themes and the functionality with plugins, so as you can imagine, it's a very popular platform.

To make building a professional looking squeeze page as easy as possible I would recommend (as others have above) that you buy Optimize Press, which is a Wordpress theme that makes it very easy to build a squeeze page, sales page, blog and so on.

It costs a little money but it's a shortcut I wish I knew about when I first started out. The members area has excellent tutorial videos that will walk you through the basics of squeeze pages and of course every detail of how to make the best use of Optimize Press is covered.

    5. To convince people to give you their email address you'll have to give them something in return. This is called an ethical bribe and usually comes in the form of a downloadable pdf document or access to a free video. If you don't have something to give away then PLR (Private Label Rights) sites like Master-Resale-Rights.com are a good place to start. Just make sure you only purchase PLR products that you're allowed to give away before you go ahead and make it available to your signups.

This process, if done correctly, will lead you to eventually having a list of subscribers who you can market RELATED products to at no additional cost (just send them an email). Don't panic the technical side of this is all handled by the Autoresponder service.

Of course you will need to get visitors (traffic) to your site and once you get them there you will have to have enticing copy on the squeeze page to convince visitor to sign up for your free gift (and get onto your list).

That's the basic set up. Hope it helps to clarify things for you.

    All the best

You can have your squeeze page as a page on your existing domain, or have new
domain used solely for your squeeze page. It is recommended to have a separate
domain, for many reasons, mainly branding, easier operating, tracking results etc.

If you are complete beginner, learn everything needed about domains and hosting
first, it is a must for any marketing endeavor.

    hey jwpower

ok we all had to start somewhere:

below is my break down for you to follow:

    1. your squeeze page does need a domain name, firstly decide on the niche that you wish to go into, and just pick 1 niche.

    2. decide what your going to call your domain name, and do some keyword research using the free "google keyword tool". having a keyword in your domain name will help with ranking in google.

    3. i would recommened to buy optimize press, it help creates your squeeze pages, sales pages, blogs without the techincal jargon.

Ok the purpose of the squeezepage: to capture the email address of your potential csutomer.

this is done by the following:

    1. create a headline that attracts a solution to the customers problem
    2. a free gift that you will offer, be it a report, video, audio product.
    3. a bullet piont section offering the benefits of your product to the customers problem.
    4. a clear call to action to get them to give their email address in return for the free gift.

there are loads of examples of squeeze pages online, if you still are not sure, jump on youtube there are plenty of videos giving you a rough template to work with.

stick in the forum and start learning from everyone in here believe me people are ever so helpful in here

hope this helps and gives some form of guideline

It would be best to have your own domain name. When you have a squeeze page, you can use it for building your own list by putting an optin box.

There are advantages to a squeeze page on your existing domain. If someone arrives on your page, they may chooses not to opt-in but still investigate the remainder of your site.

If the rest of the site builds credibility through quality content, they may just change their mind and see value in joining your list.
