Which would have a better CTR?

If I start an affiliate sales page, would I be better off writing a plain jane
site that just describes the item or should I use an "in your face"
description with all the different colors and bold type headlines etc. similar to
a squeeze page?

How do I establish a list if affiliates get upset if I use a squeeze page (see my last post "too many clicks")?
Thanks
Scott

ps where is the "thank you" button for members who answer my posts?

It depends ENTIRELY on the TYPE of product you are promoting. Please be more specific and I might be able to provide you with a detailed answer.

      Hi Scott

I would say that there is no point in repeating all the stuff that appears on the sales page of the merchant site.

Your page, email sequence or whatever should pre-sell the product so that the prospect is already in a positive frame of mind when they hit the merchants sales page.

An example of this approach is a review site where a product is given a positive review based on the experience of the reviewer. The prospect then heads off to the merchant site to read the sales literature already in a positive frame of mind about the product.

      Cheers,

    Scott,

If you're promoting just ONE product then "in your face" could work. If you're offering several products, then you'll want to establish a more consistent feel.

What I mean by "consistent feel" is to just tone down the "in your face" stuff. But, you'll still need a nice mixture of both styles. For several products, then 73% "plain Jane", and 27% "in your face".
