I was wondering if there is a way to block my IP address from being recorded
and influencing my reports on google analytics for my sites to get the most accurate data possible.

Thanks, Frank J

Hey Frank - Is your website Wordpress? If so you can get a plugin called Ultimate Google Analytics which then allows you to 'Ignore logged on users'. With this option as long as you stay logged into your Wordpress site, your IP address won't get included in the Google Analytics stats.

    Absolutely.

Under Google Analytics, select the profile (ie domain) you want to block the IP. Go to Edit Mode, under the Filter tab, enter the IP address you want to filter out from reports.

Why would you want to do this?

Would this be done if someone is sending garbage traffic from an unwanted site and screwing up your data???

I don't know about unwanted traffic but I do know I test my site constantly with split tests, different squeeze pages, different offers.

With the amount of times I load my webpages, if I don't filter out my IP address, my data is definitely skewed!
