You can think of products or services you're interested in/you know/you'd buy. That way you can usually identify which business to start first.

So if you're interested in computer keyboards, you could see if there's a market for that (there is, check Amazon...).

Same with services: what are your strengths (analytical, teamplayer etc.), what are your skills (PPC-advertising, Facebook pages optimization etc.) and what do you enjoy doing in your free time. Try combining those and you might just find a business (Create and optimize Facebook pages for a business in your area of interest for example).

Is it good to just base the website in your own country or research in other countries and set the website out there?

I tend to let the ideas come to me. If you try too hard you will end up going crazy looking at the blank page and your mind will become a blank page.

Go out, look around, talk to people. Train your mind to see how things work and how you could make them better.

Don't put pressure on yourself, get involved and opportunities will come your way.

I find that having one idea leads to a multitude of other, different ideas!

So just focus on one idea, as above posters say, look at what you know/interests you first off.

I look around everywhere I go, see if I can find problems, and how to solve them.
Or, maybe not a "problem solver" but just a cooler, better alternative to something that already exists.
