In my opinion, these are methods and not tools. Tools would be software, plugins etc that help you to get the job done.

So I would say:

1. Autoresponder
2. Html editor/ website creator - wordpress etc
3. Keyword research software

It depends, based on what you want to do. IM is a vast field and many tools are specific to some activities. For example, you will not use for flipping domains or web pages the same tools you will use for creating video courses.
Also, it depends what you will do yourself and what you will outsource.

If you tell what you want to do, will be easy to answer your question.

In general I would list these 3:

1) AWeber
2) Wordpress
3) Keyword Software

But lately (if I could add a 4th) I would add evernote. IM has a lot of moving parts, product creation, SEO efforts, tons of research. I used to keep everything in seperate files and always forget where I put certain things. Now I just organize everything in evernote.

There are tons and tons of tools that are useful to internet marketers but as the internet is ever changing and so these relevant tools now maybe rendered obsolete at a later date. I would have to stick with things that I have control over and I know I will never be able to survive without in this field. My indispensable tools of the trade are patience, persistence, & a passion for learning.

Hello Ryan, I sincerely believe ALL we need here are these 3 Things:
1) Passion and Love in doing what we do (as it will give us so necessary Motivation and Energy!)

2) Knowing WHAT we want to be selling before we decide on HOW we want to market it. (as "What" is born out of your true "core", and should be master over "How")

3) Strong personal opinion of what is good and workable, irrespective of what anyone may be saying or teaching about how to succeed online.

As I mentioned in my recent post here on forum, (http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...uploading.html) acquiring TOOLS should be SECONDARY to deciding on WHAT we want to sell (and WHY do we want this "WHAT"!). I was previously mistaken by buying Tools fist and then trying to match any marketing strategies to those tools - very wrong way!

After deciding WHAT we want to market, choosing the right Tools will be very easy and very natural.

Don't make my mistake of basing you marketing strategy on Tools, it is a road to nowhere.
