Okay guys . So I have decided to set up amazon affiliate website. I DONT want to fill it up with affiliate links and banners. I just want to set up a site with reviews of latest trends and products and use Text links. But I am unable to figure out the exact blueprint of it. I dont want to randomly write reviews.

Can somebody post links of successful amazon sites? The sites I've seen so far are filled with affiliate banner and widgets and which is worse, they dont even have content.

I just want some examples of successful amazon affiliate site so that I can have a basic idea about the website I want to set up. Thank you.

  • I have a feeling that no one is going to post their successful amazon site. It probably took them a lot of time and money to...

    1. Find the niche
    2. Learn the exact format best for conversion.
    3. Learn the best copy style to convert.

  • How do you plan make money without affiliate links and banners? There are many Amazon affiliate WSOs. I would go over their reviews and pick the best program for you.

  • It's really easy to find a successful Amazon aff site.

Just use google and type one of the keyword you're after. I bet you'll see at least one amazon affiliate site on the first page.

    • I am not going to post an example site, but I will tell you the basic formula that I use for my Amazon sites.

For every product review that I write, I put in two text affiliate links. I then write 4-6 supporting articles, with no affiliate links, using long tail terms, all linking back to the review.

This fills up my site with good content, tons of interlinking, and it gives the site a nice balance of posts.
  • I think you're on the right track. I love Paula and Wanda who wrote the "Amazonian Profit Plan". Their take on Amazon is to write a very few detailed and quality reviews that give value to people. They only use text links as they feel that banners are not necessary if the content is good. It's really helped me. Best of luck.

    • Amazonian Profit Plan is my favorite Amazon resource as well.
  • Lately, a lot of people have gone back to publishing Amazon review-style lenses on Squidoo. Whether you go the route of Squidoo or your own site, you could learn a lot just by going through the various lenses devoted to product niches and products to get a feel for content layout....There are thousands of them to explore!
  • jerryp : Thank you . I have been recommended Amazonian profit plan by a lot of people .I am seriously getting that one.

AshleyB : Thanks a lot. But I have this doubt. Should I fill the website with articles like " Top 5 products in ... " or just individual reviews? I am lost at that point. I want to give readers a personal touch yet not looking too commercial. Should I include ocassional freebies and tutorials or something like that?

    • Giving quality free information is always a great strategy to build trust. It also gets people on your list which is worth its weight in gold. You haven't mentioned a list. If you're not doing a list, you should. For Amazon specifically you I believe you can't market to people from a list but you can still collect names. You can use those names on a non-Amazon site later. Very, very valuable stuff.

  • Make it a combination of reviews and helpful articles (how to buy a TV, what to look for in a TV, etc).

I don't believe you can have a successful Amazon site without reviews. It's what people look for when they buy products.
  • Essentially select "buying keywords" - keywords someone would search for when they are ready to buy, that you can compete for. Product keywords are great to use. Make sure you pick products that people buy and are of good quality. Read the info at Amazon.

Write product reviews on these and add contextual links and photos. Give a strong call to action at the end with a benefit, i.e. click here to buy xxx and get free shipping.

I like to mix product reviews articles in with other articles that help solve problems. I then internally link the problem solving articles to the product reviews. This helps build a rich authority Amazon site.

Write reviews with both readers (who want every detail) and skimmers (just scanning for info) in mind. Make your click thru links easy to find. Break up paragraphs.

The review should be so good you will want to click thru and buy the product yourself if you haven't already
