Tutorial video conversions......

In an effort to teach the public more about our retail product and how it is created we are going to launch a short video for the main page. We do not want to spend loads of time setting up a major workshop and film crew and have considerd a realistic animated video done by computer.

Anyone have any idea the reponse rate to an animated video VS a real produced video?

Well the benefits of video are obvious - they can give instant gratification to the viewer so if you provide them with value and give them some great content in the video there is every chance that they will respond to your Call to Action.

With regard to expected response rate I have no idea, it depends on so many different variables I wouldn't like to hazard a guess.

Well my real question is - would an animated version of a real video fly? Not a cartoon but a real 3D animated video. What do you guys think of that?

If the video clearly explained the benefits and features of your product in an engaging way, then yes, it would fly. This means putting as much effort into coming up with a concept and writing the script, as you would put into creating the animation itself.
