The traffic source with the best conversion rate

I recently read an interesting article from seewhy. They analysed their sales and compared them to the source. 67.37% of conversions came from email!
Email has the best conversion rate.

I was quite amazed that the figure was so high.

    It shows you email is still king. That is why you hear the money is in the list.

      I would add this to that statement - The money is in the RELATIONSHIP with the list.

      I mean there's no point having a huge list of thousands of freebie seekers who never buy anything and in fact can cost you loads of money in auto-responder fees.

      The moral of this story is, respect your subscribers. Listen to what they tell you, solve their problems and they WILL become your followers.

    blog commenting and article syndication to a squeeze page.

    That works for us. But there is never one perfect traffic source. You need to test and track everything. Use the sources that are converting the best. It could be PPC, or forum traffic, or maybe a JV you did. Find out what works and keep milking that strategy, do it in your sleep or the wife is nagging you LOL.... you will make money.

        The list and the relationship are both true. I kill it with email marketing. I prefer solos and co-registrations because the list owners do have a relationship with their list. I have seen over 50% open rates.

        Personally, I think email marketing is the easiest way to get started in this business because a brand new person without a list can have success by using solo ads. Oh yeah, and it's super cheap and targeted.

    The reason the money is in the list is because the people that are willing to sign up to your email list, already like something that you are doing. You have built up trust and credibility with that person.

    I have read that people are 20% more likely to buy from you if they have bought from you in the past. I believe that number could even be higher. That might explain where that number is coming from.

    You always have to analyze the statistic.

    Was the conversion rate all from first time customers, or mixed with repeat customers, or all repeat customers?

    Important to think about when analyzing the stat in order to make a decision about your own marketing priorities.

    I don't quite need an experiment to prove that. It has always and will continue to be, and this is exactly why I'll advise anybody to focus 60% of their efforts on building a list.
