Amazon Review Star Ratings

Is there a way to take the Amazon review star ratings off Amazon and place just them on your review site in a way that as they update on Amazon, they likewise do on your site?

is there a plug0in or widget for this?

They used to allow use of their reviews. I'm not sure that would be TOS-compliant any longer. I don't use them so I'm not going to say I'm certain but I thought they took that stuff out of their feeds some time ago.

question since you kind of brought it up>

i am creating a conduit type site right now and near the bottom of the posts, i am taking small (usually under one sentence) snippets of reviews left on Amazon by customers. is this against the TOS? should I cease doing this?

ex: "...the product x was really nice yet was hassle free setting it up..."

      should i stop doing this?

I think you are walking a fine line by copying/pasting. I would at least paraphrase stuff and then send visitors to Amazon for the full review.

I was actually told to copy and paste reviews onto my site, but maybe I should go back and change it.

No, you should definitely not copy and paste reviews onto your site. Aside from copyright violations, you are also violating Amazon TOS.

Folks, for the sake of your business, please take the time to read the Amazon guidelines for yourselves. It won't take you too long. Remember, you are the one responsible for complying with the guidelines. When you purchase WSO's or read posts that give recommendations, suggestions, or possible guidance, they won't be the ones to suffer if Amazon claims your site isn't in compliance. Yes, it can be very helpful to gather ideas and methodologies from others. But always be as confident as possible that what you do is in line with what Amazon allows you to do.

And you don't need to be shy about asking Amazon for clarification, too.

Now, from the Associates Program Participation Requirements:

      28. You will not display or otherwise use any of our customer reviews or star ratings, in part or in whole, on your site unless you have obtained a link to that customer review or star rating through the Product Advertising API and you comply with the requirements set forth in the License Agreement.
      Peace

Man, this is right on the money. Too many people rely on others to explain things to them. That's usually a mistake.
