webrings... dead?

I remember a long time ago webring.com and webrings were popular. Is this still a good resource? Just having a flashback from years gone bye.

    Hi, I have a little experience with Webrings where my hobby sites are concerned. Volkswagen Scene and Amateur Radio being the hobbies in question.

    The belonging to the webrings has produced some traffic and interest but I would niot say it was an exceptionally large traffic flow mor dribs and drabs that a flood I would say.

    As with anything to do with publicity any publicity is worthwhile after all and the effort in joining is not too onerous.

    So my perception is not dead but sertainly less active than they were a few years back.

    My girlfriend makes stuff to sell on Etsy.com and she
    uses Webrings. For IM stuff? maybe not. For the
    1000s of niche hobby interests? They work.
