I've posted two WSO's and received one $65 order.

I'm offering writing services though, and I think I need to build more of a name for myself here before buyers will trust me.

I'm obviously no expert, but my advice would be a catchy headline, a great offer, great copy, and promotion via your sig link.

He's not selling a way to make money. He's selling articles. It's not the
same thing. That's not the problem. Read the copy. It's very wooden
English. How good can anybody expect the articles themselves to be.

Forget that the copy isn't compelling at all. At least get the English right
and make it appear to be your first language.

I see several problems. You don't give article titles - you don't give a sample from an article and when asked for a sample you point to a very short EZA article that is not for sale.

You don't say what your experience is in writing articles - and you don't have a full name or website in your profile.

Thus, the offer is selling an unknown quality of articles from an unknown author. Take the results as a lesson and look at how others present articles for sale and learn from it.

Oh dear god, the copy in your WSO is atrocious. Seriously, if you want any sort of credibility in the online content creation arena, you'll need to either outsource everything you do (from the sales page promotion to the actual article content production) or pay someone to copyedit everything you do.

Take that as constructive criticism from someone who has been involved in almost every aspect of online/offline content production.

I'm sorry to say, and I really don't want to hurt your feelings, but as a few have stated above, your copy and your article sample were very poorly written. If you are going to sell PLR articles, then I think they have to be pretty decent quality in order to get orders.

I've had a few PLR WSO's myself and done OK with them, so I think you can make at least some money selling PLR but if you look at the other PLR sellers you will see that they all have great writing skills so I think that is the standard that you need to strive for.

My first WSO didn't make a single sale either. But, I learned from a huge mistake I made. Don't let yourself get down. IM is a learning curve, especially if you don't have anyone to critique your work for you. Therefore, take this as a learning lesson, pull your chin up, and put out another one. This thread has given you tons of helpful information for you to work with. Good luck.

Okay, because it might be your first time in doing a WSO I would say first establish a reputation, take part in discussions, contribute more and learn from everyone else.

Then think about doing a WSO, and keep on eye on how other people are doing it, if you are not good at copy, then you should ask someone to help you.

If you note my reply, I did offer encouragement. And others have to some extent as well.

BUT, it would be irresponsible for us to encourage to continue down the wrong path. Offering wriritng means you must demonstrate you are a good writer. That is constructive criticism that could help in the long run.

The OP was asking for help, and that is what we are offering.

To encourage someone to improve, when improvement is needed is the right thing to do.

Plus, there was a lot of other solid advice given.

That is more important to long-term success than a simple pat on the back.

Maybe sales numbers have been affected by the new forum changeover, but that's just a guess.

To me, that was the most frustrating thing of the WSOs that did not sell. I knew the info was good and would help people. But maybe the timing was off, or the sales copy didn't resonate. Again, it happens.

Then there are the WSOs that are successful, and I must admit that I like those much better.

Actually your first WSO is a success! You learn a valuable lesson with it and got a LOT of comments. Now take all those comments and apply them and make your WSO better and move forward. We all learn from our mistakes and you're lucky yours just cost you the price of a WSO and not $997

If everyone got it right the first time we'd never have version 2.0 s

Without getting into details about very low post count (credibility is vital for WSO) I used to sell articles when I first started doing WSO's many moons ago and they always did fantastic. However, the PLR article trend has really changed since then.

You don't have much going for you, yet, as most of the other warriors have stated. You only have 38 posts so it will be hard to gain trust (start participating and people will get to know a little about you), and as Steve Waggenheim (did I spell that right?) said you have very poor grammatical skills so I would outsource the Copywriting or post the editing job on Sitepoint/Digitalpoint. You should be selling your product elsewhere as well, WSO's are just that A SPECIAL OFFER, so we should be getting a better deal than others would. Hope these tips have been helpful and welcome to the forum!

Your English is actually very good. The problem is the few mistakes you made were a fatal flaw in your WSO. Everything you wrote was easy to understand (except for the fact that you didn't mention what type of energy you were talking about in your original WSO post). You did make a couple of (small) grammatical mistakes, the problem is people looking for content want flawless English (although I don't see why since it is PLR and a couple of small changes can make it unique). Don't give up, your English is definitely good enough to make content, you just might not have the right audience or product here.

Let's analyze this because you are not the first that has made this mistake.

"[NO] Can be given away.
[NO] Can be packaged.

[NO] Can sell Master Resale Rights
[NO] Can sell Private Label Rights"

Okay, pretty straight forward... everything above basically says you cannot give it away, it cannot be re-packaged, it cannot be offered as a bonus, it cannot be added to paid membership sites, cannot offer it for resale, Master Resale or Private Label Rights,etc.

Now the next part makes me grin:

"[YES] Can Be Edited Completely and Your Name Put on it."

Let me spell that out for you...or let you read that sentence a few times. If someone can EDIT it completely and place their Name on it- well then in effect you are giving them full control over the article. Correct me if I am wrong... that is essentially what Private Label rights are. So look back to the sentence where you said:

"[NO] Can sell Private Label Rights"

A complete contradiction.

Let's look at your other sentence:

"[NO] Can be packaged."

Once again you did state you are giving them complete control over the article...so how it is packages is in effect up to them. Any lawyer worth his salt will tell you that.

Your next sentence:

"[YES] Can be added to an ebook as content"

Wow...amazing you didn't figure this one out... if the ebook is a bonus what are you going to do? Since it contradicts the sentence of: "[NO] Can be offered as a bonus."

However, for argument sake it was only intended for offering the article itself as a bonus...fact is your beautiful sentence: "[YES] Can Be Edited Completely and Your Name Put on it," means they can pretty much do as they please. They have full control over editing. Don't blame me, blame yourself. Funny thing is, it's not the first time I have seen mistakes like these. What does that mean to someone like me: 'The person is prone to making mistakes and obviously do not know what he is talking about.'

"[YES] Can be used as web content
[YES] Can be broken down into smaller articles
[YES] Can be added to an eCourse or autoresponder as content
[YES] Can be added to an ebook as content"

As an afterthought... if you can break it down into smaller articles, add it to eCourses, ebooks and autoresponders...you are in fact presenting it in different formats... hence it applies to packaging.

My first WSO went really well.

The thing you need to think about when you make a
wso is What do these warriors want?

Heres what they want
Traffic, Tricks that will make them fast cash, Unique articles & Software.

From my experience PLR is not the way to go unless you have thousands
of articles, I used to sell huge pakages like 30,000 PLR articles and include
bonuses that included PLR ebooks, scripts, templates and MRR ebooks
all for the low price of $11.00.

If you lowered your price to say $5.00 or $7.00 you might get some sales
Atleast you tried, Good Luck with your next WSO.

My First WSO actually saved my business.

Was actually getting very frustrated after a couple years not making much money.

Actually told myself if I did not make any money on that day I was going to hang it up.

Surprisingly when I got home I made $150 in one day. At that time, that was the most I've ever made in a single day.

So needless to say, here I am two years later and more successful than ever.

I've not ran many wso's. Everyone I have became successful.

I think the key is to not give up. When I posted my first PLR video series, there were lots of questions because I had some wholes in the sales copy. Once I made a few modifications they started selling like hotcakes!

Had I just given up I would have lost out on a lot.

My most recent WSO was also my first as seen in my signature. It did make some sales and I was impressed considering this was my very first one. However, my main focus was not about making money out of the ebook, but more of my own way of giving something back to this great community. That may sound hard to believe but it's true. I even included Resell Rights to it. Who knows someone else might add way more value to the ebook and create a bigger masterpiece product. I hope so.

Anyways, what I am just saying is that, whether or not I made sales or not. I would not give up. I plan on coming up with a much better WSO very soon. I vow to make each WSO bigger and better than the last. So take the constructive criticism you get and 'will get' on this forum. It will help you a whole lot. Now and in the long run.

Don't give up. The more you contribute to this forum and keep learning, the better your next WSO will be, when you're ready to do it.

Hi Tamtu,

I think the key is not to give up, just look at this as a low cost way to learn. However, you don't want to lose money every time you want to learn something.

There have been some very successful WSO's in the Warrior Forums, so perhaps do some research on those that appear to be converting well. Look for just how the product offer is presented, what features are included for example, scarcity, social proof, description, samples, video etc.

Then plan to use the appropriate features in your next WSO.

But once again don't give up.

  People's first WSO seems to go from breaking even, to a little bit of profit, to none at all. I think WSOs past the first one seem to makemore money based on what you've learned the first time through.

  I put up my first WSO this week, after a year here.
  
  In that year I learned an awful lot, about what not to do as well as what to do. I formed some valuable contacts, purchased WSO Secrets and implemented just about all the tips, and, after some trouble posting my WSO, found a few more helpful buddies.
  
  I had fellow Warriors proofread my sales letter as well as give feedback on my product, before I posted the WSO. All the planets were aligned - then came the technical issues with my WSO (all fixed in record time thanks to Warriors).
  
  While I thought every Warrior would rush to grab my offer on my sensational product, they didn't. But that's not to say I am unhappy with the response - sales are ticking over very nicely. However, I am getting more sales, from very versatile buyers, at a higher price, from my website, and I thank the article marketing I'm doing for this.
  
  In short, while my first WSO isn't making up for my superannuation fund loss over the last 12 months, I have learned so very much in the process.

Here is a very disturbing trend I see happening
when it comes to WSO's.

I see some people posting WSO's and then coming
to the main forum and starting threads that has
nothing to do with making or helping members to
make money, just to get their WSO exposure.

This is something I have notice and if I'm not mistaken
I think a couple people actually said in their ebooks to
do that, and this trend is just getting more and more
each and everyday.

It's so much easier to simply contribute real value to most posts that you turn a potentially negative marketing technique into a positive and hugely effective one. If your posts are helping members, they're far more likely to look at and buy your WSO.

Hi BIG Mike,

I have been stalking you in the forum too, reading your posts.

I agree the fact that it is important to create great value.

People buy WSOs mainly to increase their income, have another income stream, make their business better and many other reasons link to hopes, dreams and goals.

We create products to help these people reach their aim and so it is important that there must be great value and it create positive changes in their lives.

I have also observed many respected Warriors posting contents and big chunks of it.

Sometimes it makes me wonder if they are jeopardising their WSOs because they are offering so much value.

Later, I realize that it is because these Warriors share so much great content, there is a tendency of trust created plus relationship such that it encourages the members to buy their WSOs.

Somehow it is not a buyer-seller relationship. It has become a friend-friend relationship!

Well I have not met my 25 orders yet (hint! hint!) but I am happy with the results I have gotten for what I placed on WSO ..

I was kinda shocked to learn it cost another $20 to bump your WSO back to page 1 though ...

I would listen to others advice and improve on what they say.

That reminds me - I did bump my last WSO to see if it would continue to sell. It should another four or so, which more than paid for the bump. I think if you had a string of WSO's (which is what I'm going to be experimenting with) it might be more worthwhile to reset the clock.

I set my target at selling about 30 copies and have exceeded that by a mile.

I think that how well your offer goes relies a lot on what you are offering and the way you present it. If you read threads here in the forum you will find a ton of problems that people need addressed. If you are in a position to give detailed information to solve those problems you should have a successful WSO and product to sell other places for that matter.

Every thread is a possible new product which address that problem.

Let's take a step backward.

Why do people look for information or buy them?

1. To solve a problem
2. To tackle an issue at hand (which may not be a problem)

So if you can find a problem or an issue, it could be the next product for WSO or anywhere else.

I think looking at what worked before(or has a got a lot of views or replies since we don't really know how much any given WSO has sold) is good advice so you don't try and approved that's untested.

If you browse through the forum you'll find a lot of people use the same basic outline, then modify it depending on what they're selling.

  Don't underestimate the value of the right headline - my current WSO is looking a massive fail, and I'm pretty sure it was down to the lame thread title. You could edit them in the old forum, but apparently not here.

My first WSO was about a year ago, or maybe 15 months. I had joined the forum a couple of months previous to that and tried to answer questions relating to business planning, goal setting, financing, and getting your book published. Those are my areas of expertise.

That first WSO was offering plr rights to a short report (5000) words that was niche oriented, not IM oriented. At that time I didn't know a lot about IM. Yes the WSO was successful, although it only made a couple of hundred dollars it showed me there was a market for niche plr and what I wrote - sold.

I have an advantage as a writer. I have three books commercially published and several ebooks. My credentials are pretty solid. I also have several niche websites as well as business websites which I can point to as samples. The books on Amazon are a strong selling point.

I've had WSOs to test market. Some bombed, some, maybe made $100. One WSO offered a package of ghostwriting services. It wasn't cheap and I required 50% down ( I still do). Only one person bought it. But I got 3 other ghostwriting clients that saw the WSO and wanted packages outside of what I was offering. I don't write for a penny a word or even two cents a word, my work is more expensive. That WSO brought in several thousand dollars even though, technically it generated only one sale. Don't be misled by WSOs that don't have any responses or just a few that doesn't mean there aren't any sales.

I haven't offered a WSO for a while. I put together a report on how to write and distribute a press release but haven't offered it yet. I write and distribute press releases for our own company and have been able to generate some nice coverage. My writing partner was interviewed and quoted in the August '08 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine as a result of our publicity efforts.

Lately it seems that article writing services have decreased in price. What used to be a $10 or $15 article is now offered for less than $5.00. PLR also seems to have decreased in value.

Not being an expert with a stellar track record in fabulously successful WSOs I can only offer limited advice.

1. Participate in the forum offering solid content in your posts.

2. Establish a track record in the area of expertise of your WSO.

3. Offer a fair value. If the report should be $7.00 but you need to make $17.00 per copy, add enough extra content so it's worth $27.00 per copy, then sell it for $17.00.

4. Work on your sales copy. This is my downfall. I write lousy sales copy.

5. If your WSO doesn't live up to your expectations, try to figure out why, so you can improve. Don't consider yourself, or your product, a failure based on that WSO. In other words if at first you don't succeed, try, try, again.

  I'm happy to report that my first WSO made some sales. It's made me a little money and I'm already thinking similar WSOs work better for some obvious reasons I didn't consider. I'll be more prepared for my next WSO and I think that's the whole point.
  
  My release timing was also terrible. Compared to normal activity around here it was a ghost town in the WSO forum.

I have tried one WSO so far, offering ghostwriting, and managed to gain a number of clients. But I had the advantage of a senior warrior to help me along. He had suggestions for copy, layout and font of the WSO, and gave me a testimonial as well. That kind of advice and support was a major factor in the success of my offer.

I read your sales copy. It is poor English. If you can't write grammatically
correct copy, how can you expect anybody to believe that you are going
to give them articles that are any good?

  Ah, thread necromancy. Sorry about that, but this is interesting, and I've been as on the stick since the move to the new digs.
  
  I've done three WSO's, selling PLR article packs, and they all sold exactly what I wanted. The first one I capped at 25 packs sold at 10.00 per, and it sold out in ten days or so. I actually left money on the table there, since people contacted me later after I'd sold out.
  
  What did for the first one was offer a pay if you like it system - I asked people to give me an email addy to send them the articles to and if they liked them and could use them, they could send me the money.
  
  The idea, obviously, was to transfer any possible risk to me. I honestly don't know if this made any difference in terms of sales. All three WSO's sold similar amounts, with the second two, which I did not limit to 25 packs, selling somewhat more.
  
  I think good product was a key. A lot of people (something three quarters of all the people I sold to) bought all three packs, which I think means that I did a good job.
  
  I didn't notice any particular value in limiting the numbers to create demand in this case. Sales were very close either way. That might be down to low prices - while 10.00 for 5 articles isn't the cheapest PLR price, I think ten bucks is cheap enough that people don't feel any kind of supply pressure - they'll either spend it or they won't.
  
  Things that did work:
  
  I went and looked at all the PLR WSO's and noted what they were doing in their copy, what I liked and what I thought was interesting. And then I came up with copy I thought was interesting.
  
  Piggybacking. Each WSO contained links to the previous WSO's, so people who bought my third one often bought the second and asked about the first (which was sold out), so having links handy for people who were already predisposed to buy helped.
  
  Picking the right subject. In this case, stuff related to gas and fuel. It was a hot topic with a clickbank product in the niche selling like gangbusters, so it was something people were interested in buying. I think it helped.
  
  Emailing people with new WSO's. I didn't (and don't) have a list, but I asked people who bought my stuff if they'd like to be emailed by me when I put a new WSO. Most did, and as I mentioned earlier, most people bought more than once.
  
  Including the opening paragraph. It took a couple of days in my first WSO before it occurred to me to do this. It makes sense. If you can write an opening paragraph that makes someone who'll pay for the articles want to read more, it's a good inidcation to customers that those articles are going to be useful and get read.
  
  I'm pretty sure that my articles could make most of the people who bought more than two bucks apiece, so I think I was a pretty good deal.

  I've just about tapped out my knowledge pool on this area, but I've done one last pack of articles. The subject this time is the various kinds of alternate fuel vehicles like hybrids and fuel cell cars.
  
  This is, as a recent thread mentioned, a very hot market that is only going to get hotter as fuel prices continue to rise through the summer. The product has been selling like gangbusters, and this is a hot hot niche.
  
  Every article is brand new and written from scratch, so you'll have no worries about submitting it. There are several similar systems, so don't hesitate to cut and paste the system you're promoting in place of Water4Gas.
  
  The articles:
  
  Plug In for Cheap Gas 473 Words
  
  Can you run your car on cooking oil? 518 Words
  
  Why aren't you driving an electric car? 487 Words
  
  The most common thing in the world can save you gas money 492 Words
  
  Hybrids - They're not just for plants anymore 447 Words
  
  I've been writing professionally in a (wide, wide) variety of fields for the last ten years, and I've put all that experience and fancy learnin' into these articles. Each ones has a conversational and, dare I say it, entertaining style while still managing to slip in the keywords in an organic way. These are all killer, no filler.
  
  Normally, I'd charge $25.00 a piece for this kind of writing, but I'm going to give them to you for just $10.00 for all five. After these sell out, I'm never offering these again or using them in any fashion.

I was looking at your sig, was that the WSO you placed.

I see you had several questions placed by potential buyers.

Every time someone ask's me questions, I see how I can use this to improve my WSO.

I had one hot product, the way I described it did initially made no sales other than get questions. Obviously my copy was confusing and had many holes in it.

Then all of a sudden one person asked a question in a certain way, that totally change the perspective on the product.

I modified the copy a little then all of a sudden I made sales.

Listen to what people are asking you will learn alot about how people are viewing your product

Don't get upset, learn from the advise and comments people have given. It takes more will power to learn from upsetting comments than anything. I know. When I get comments that rip me apart my first reaction is anger. If I settle down and think what they are telling me I usually find a lesson that I can use in my favor.

Not everyone is gentle, not everyone will sugar coat it, but the world is brutal out there when you are asking people to give you their money.

One additional problem I see with your WSO is that you are offering 400 word articles but your example article is only 256 words.

Running a WSO is just like everything else in life....Hit or Miss.

You never can tell what will sell well and what will fizzle out. There are a lot of variables to take into account as to how "bad" or "good" a WSO will perform.

But, just because one didn't do so hot doesn't mean the next one won't rake in the dough. Keep trying and you will see your efforts pay off once you get into the groove.

I did well with my first WSO, but I spent about a year on the forum making valuable posts and building a friendly reputation (with all but a couple of people ) before I even THOUGHT about doing a WSO.

I think that is the key. People have to trust you and believe that you know what you're talking about.

  My first WSO went well. All my WSOs have reaped profits for me so far, except for one which almost broke even.

I did see some sales in my first WSO but not that many. It all boils down to how you market how far your up the warrior line and who you know to help traffic as a friend or a favor for a favor.

Don't get discouraged and stay with it Warrior.

My first WSO did very well. I've only done a few, but it seems they are not as lucrative as in the past. It seems a WSO is off the front page in just a day or two. Back then it was much longer. Maybe its just my perception.

I posted one the other day, the first one in a long time, at 10:30pm and by the time I woke up it was part way down the second page so I just closed it.

I did buy one today though so it's still working for someone.

To answer the question, I did very well with the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd. Actually all of them up until this last one but it's the first one I've posted since the bumping started.

I ran my first WSO about a week ago. I thought it would be perfect for anyone who is into article marketing because I sell a script where visitors can leave comments. It's fully automated and choc full of features but I had no sales either. My sales copy has worked on non-WSO pages but nothing from my WSO.

I'm not bitter but just sharing my two-cents.

If you figure out what went wrong - let me know - as I am preparing to offer my first WSO soon.

Not sure if you know this or not, but your signature file url isn't hyperlinked for whatever reason - I'd def take the time to figure this one out.

Don't give up now. If you've gotten far enough to create a product and offer to folks, it's now just a matter of tweaking things until they all click!
