Domain Name Question

Hi all!

I've registered a domain name mytownplumbers.co.uk, which I plan on renting out to a plumbing company in my town.

I've just realised that there is a plumbing company called 'mytown plumbers', who have the domain name mytown-plumbers.co.uk.

Would they have any legal right to demand the domain name I've bought, or stop another plumbing company from using it?

    I'm not British and therefore I don't know their laws, but it seems like they had the same chance that you did to buy the domain and opted to go for the hyphenated version of it first. I hope someone else will chip in here, but maybe you could contact them and see if they'd be willing to purchase the domain off of you for a not-unreasonable markup?
