What does Transferring DNS to Webhost mean

(i) Is transferring DNS to Webhost means same thing as connecting your domain to your webhost.

(ii) I have registered my domain name with Namecheap. Now I want to connect my domain to Hostgator. If I open my domain name account on Namecheap, I find one option on left side of the opened page by the name "Transfer DNS to Webhost". Do I have to click on this option & fill in the names of hostgator servers on the opened page of my domain account & save.

Please clarify both of above queries.

If you followed my advice in a previous thread, you should've filled in the HostGator nameservers during the Namecheap purchase process. Did you do that?

OK...I just didn't want to tell you to do something you've already done.

You'll have to go into domain management and update the nameservers to the ones that HostGator gives to you. Unfortunately, it could take up to 24 hours for them to reset, which means you won't have a live site until tomorrow. (That's why I recommend doing it when you buy the site...it happens instantly that way.)
