I´m setting up a store, and came across Ecwid. Looks nice and much easier to install and implement than most of the usual suspects.

But I am not completely happy with the idea of having the inventory somewhere else, call me control freak...

Does anyone have experience using it for downloadable item?

I just found this a few days ago and implemented it immediately on my new site. I needed a secure shopping cart that wouldn't break the bank. After all, I'm trying to make money, not go in the hole.

I have to admit, the free price tag drew me in first, but wow am I impressed! The documentation is fantastic and the store is a little drag, a little drop, and a little CSS. I haven't tested anything out yet other than uploading some items. It's a cinch to list my products and no limits. The cart integrated quickly and easily with WordPress and they have plugins and instructions for Joomla, Drupal, and a number of other software.

Each time, I think I need something else they might not have...I find it. For example, SSL. So far, so good with Ecwid. A premium account is only $17 per month, and I'll definitely be upgrading if all goes well.

I think this is a must-have tool for beginning marketers with products to sell.

You're welcome! I think you'll be really pleased! Ecwid has an extensive knowledge base, and what that doesn't cover can be addressed in the forums. Best of luck! Let us know how it goes.

          Hi,

I'm using ECWID for a couple of years..

Nice folks and user-friendly ecommerce system. How the system gives you feedbacks and reminders are simply great.

You can install ECWID on FB, WP and regular website.

An upgrade at a very low price will enable you to sell digital products and set numbers of downloads or time-limits to expire links.

          Simply love it.

Just to clarify...you CAN sell digital products with the free version of Ecwid. What Azmanar is saying here is that in order to set limits on those products, it requires a premium account. Premium account monthly fee is UNDER $20!
