One year wasted, with really not much work done
My little story about IM is this. About one year ago I've started reading IM ebooks, thing about Clickbank, affiliations, SEO, and stuff like that, so I decided to try my luck, and see what I could do. I've bought 2 domains, both of them sport-related, and both of them promoting some Clickbank manuals. I knew everything about wordpress, so setting everything up was no problem.
On the first site, I make about 600/700 visits per month. This one I did something wrong when choosing the niche name (i forgot to target a specific "name"), but still it makes about 600/700 visits per month, almost all of them from Google.
The second website I made, targeting another niche, makes about 450 visits per month. I thought I could fight the competition who uses a similar target-name, but my website is buried deep into Google darkness. There alot of website that rank in the first page that dont even have the target-word in the domain.
In short: I received my first check from Clickbank, for a full year of these two websites going on... 125$. I can just pay back the hosting company, and nothing more. Plus, my Clickbank account is now saying I have 45$ in debt.
So at this point I need to change something. This IM thing is not as easy as I thought. I probably havent targeted the right niche, probably have done a poor job about everything, so at this point I'm deciding what to do next. I'd like your advice please, this is what I had in mind:
1) Sell my two websites on Flippa. I dont know how much they're valued though, considered the low visits.
2) Keep them for another year (I've already paid the host...), try to change something, see how can I improve them.
3) Start another website, this time targeting something that is producing much more money in meantime: a blog/website about graphic design.
What do you suggests ?
I was really hoping for the two websites of getting around 4'000 visits per month, but I cant get it right, they're stuck at the bottom of the Google pit.
Any imput from your much valuable experience will be greatly appreciated.
