Camtasia Experts Needed...

Whats up warriors?

Having a problem with Camtasia. I record a "Screen Capture" (as a .camrec) and then when I open it in Camtasia, IT IS BLANK and it doesn't let me play, produce or anything else...

What am I doing or what do I have setup wrong?

Thanks in advance

OK when I open a ".avi" it plays, lets me produce and everything else so I will probably just go that route...

I thought maybe I had to do it in .cam to be able to "produce"

But this is still bothering me BIG TIME

try media converter 2.5, it'll crush the file size to a smaller one.

Mine end up around 300-600MB, after crushing them, they come out like this
          Loz Lawn | Facebook

approx 50-130MB. and the quality is still good.

what version are you using? 5? or 6? it sounds like you're using version 5, that happened to me, so I upgraded to 6.0.1, works just fine.

        56kbs is small man.

I've got files that are way larger than that.

          56kb?

...you proabaly didn't save the file properly!!

OR...that the project file is 56kb and you've moved the connected main files elsewhere - and it can't find it to 'call it in'.

that's about right mate, camrec, I've got ones that are about 7.5KB in size, but it only saves the settings, etc and the location of the imported media.

BTW, there are two types of .camrec files, one that has a small green icon with a white paper background, while the other one looks green with a film strip, these ones get huge.

And still nothing... However as long as I can "produce" it for my site using the .avi I will work with that for now...

But this is bothering the HELL OUT OF ME...

            Hey Adeel,

I have many files and all the ".avi's" work just the .cam's are "blank" and it will not read them...

I have recorded many. Maybe because its not saving it to the "Camtasia Folder"?

doesn't need to be saved in the camtasia folder, it can be anywhere...

how large is the avi file? try crunching the size of it with that software app I mention above.

I just upgraded to the 6 also... but maybe I never "deleted" the 5 completly!

I know 53k isn't too big but the point I was trying make is its reading the "size" which is an actual video... you know? Its not some blank video...

did you upgrade / update it to 6.0.1? that one iron outs the previous bugs in 6.0.0
