Hello everyone, newbie here got recommended to this forum for some brainstorming and ideas, would like to ask anyone whos good enough to help a couple of questions on where to start.

A bit about me and where i am at....I already have a small IT support business working for myself which is doing ok but nothing great, i have been involved in network marketing before promoting an online gaming platform which was total flop and im now looking to try something online again.

Im looking for ideas on where to start to come up with an idea (you get my drift). I would ideally like to sell a product either physical dropship or information via ebook\webpage. I have been looking for a market but dont want to end with a product that requires massive amounts of customer service, eventually looking for 100% website automation .

I really have been scratching my head on where and what to look for, do i look for the market first or really think about the product area before investing lots of time. I dont want to spend time on looking for spaces in a market thats 'customer service' heavy, so have the quandary of market or product first?

Really what im asking is where is a good place to start for ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi litew8,

Well, if you're looking to create or provide your own products/services - then 'customer service' is something that's attached to this (unless you outsource it). You can eventually achieve nearly '100% automation' by developing systems and processes that handle all the repetitive details and outsourcing the rest.

There are basically 2 ways you can go:
    a. Create/Develop/Market your own products and services
    b. Market products and services for others as an 'affiliate' or 'broker'

Being that you're already working for yourself in an IT business, then going with "a" seems the logical choice; as you're already familiar with it.

Going with "b" will free you up form the customer service headaches - which you clearly wish to avoid - but will also open you up to other challenges.

Each path has its own pros and cons - and fair share of challenges. For example, with "a", you can grow a list of buyers and clients; sell them more of your products/services; etc. With "b", you can get started almost immediately as there is no product/service developmental time or cost involved.

In addition, there are a few business models that allow you to make a decent living, but without the typical customer service issues.

One is flipping web sites -- you buy and/or build a site, grow it, improve on it and the flip it.

Another is running ads on a high traffic site or network of sites -- you operate one large site or a network of sites that attract tens of thousands of page impressions per day and then rotate CPM ads on them. These can be Adsense ads, banners from a network like Tribal Fusion - or a combination of both.

In addition to creating my own products, I do both the above. It's not the easiest thing in the world, but it's doable

My suggestion to you is to pick something that you feel comfortable with - and then stick to that and make it work. Otherwise, you'll never get the ball rolling.

So, just start. Everything else will fall in to place. And when you have a specific question - just come back here and ask. Many of us are glad to help.

    Best to you,

    - Jay

probably internal, decide what you want to do with your life. decide what you have to do to get it. then go do it.

you'll learn that in my manual. currently free until i finish writing it. it is currently being edited by an PHD English professor.

In America anyone can go straight to the top. And here's what's exciting- It is the bottom that is crowded, not the top.

    Hi litew8,

    Welcome to the Warrior Forum!

You will definitely find a lot of helpful people here ready to share their experiences with you and brainstorm too.

My 2 cents is to make a list of what you like to do, what your hobbies are, what you are passionate about, what skills you have and then do some market research using these areas as keywords to see if there is a demand that you can serve. Decide on physical products or a service. You can become an affiliate or create your own website or blog and monetize them or put your products on them.

Start reading threads here using keywords that fit what you want to brainstorm about for threads that others with the same questions asked previously to read what answers they got.

    Good luck
