One suggestion is that the signup form in your sidebar doesn't stand out. Try changing up the colors, making the submit button bigger and have a better call to action than just "Submit". Try something like "Join Now" or "Sign Up Now", etc..

Also try giving some benefits of your success manual. Just looking at it I don't know what it is and it might be good to have a few bullet points of how signing up will help people.

    Good luck!

I notice that you had a pop-up opt-in form box when I visited the site. I don't tend to use them but, when I have, I find that more emphasis on the product works much better. So show the ebook/free report and make it more prominent than it currently is. If you can pique enough interest with the actual product, your visitors will then look at how they can get their hands on a free copy and enter their email address. That's what I have found in my experience and it's worth giving it a shot and making the product more prominent.

In your sidebar, it says to sign up a for a free report but I think it would be much better to show a visual image of the free report so that you can catch your visitor's attention and make it stand out more. At the moment, it doesn't look too prominent and visitors may not see the need to enter an email address unless they've taken the time to read that heading in the sidebar. Images tend to work better at catching attention and drawing your visitor's eyes to the sidebar where they can sign up for their free guide.

Something else that I have found works well is to have an opt-in box at the bottom of every post. When your visitor finished reading an article and is looking for where to go next, you can catch their attention with details of a free ebook and an opt-in box.

I hope this helps a little. They key is to keep testing and seeing what works best for your individual site but the above has worked well for me.

Make your homepage a squeeze page, and lead traffic there. After they sign up, then introduce them to your blog content, articles, freebies, offers, etc. The hover ad is good tho... include this on your squeeze page too.

Don't like the instant popup. It comes up in 2-3 seconds and does not look good.

I also think you would be better off with some squeeze pages that promote
"Get a FREE copy of my success manual before it goes on sale!"

Link it up with the blog with bold graphics and promote the squeeze page.

Make the opt-in area in a different color, it look the same as the other menus so it soesn't catch the user attention.
