See if you can help me

I was wondering if there is a plugin or something I can get so that when I write a new post on my blog only a section of the post appears on the home page and then you ave to click on the heading in order to read the rest of it?

I had no problem doing this before but now I am using optimizepress as my theme and the entire post is appearing on my homepage.

Refer to my signature if your not sure what I mean.

Hope you can help.

Thank you,
Sean

Alternative: have you tried using the 'more' option in wordpress?
example. As you are writing your post, you decide, this is all I want to show. you add the more option and then keep writing.
when you post it, the front page will only display up to the more

In America anyone can go straight to the top. And here's what's exciting- It is the bottom that is crowded, not the top.

You should just be able to use the MORE tag rather than a plugin. It's been a while since I had to do it but I think it's actually built into the wordpress formatting section for posts and pages.

      Thats what bugs me!!

I have the 'more' tag set up on the posts.

When I initially wrote the posts i included the 'more' tag and even now, after changing over to optimizepress, when I go into edit post the more tag is there and visible but when I go to my blog all I see is the entire lot of each post.

      Any ideas anyone?

You shouldn't need a plugin to do that. There's a button at the top that you click to do that when you make a post. On the tol bar

The Insert More Tag is an incredibly handy feature that allows you insert a line that cuts off how much of your post will show on the main page of the site if you have your blog posts as the main page. It used to be that you'd have to do some complicated css stuff or download a plugin to do this but now you can do it from the post editor.
