Making Money Online doing Surveys?

Hi guys, just a quick question...
My girlfriend wants to start in this online business, with not-so-time-consuming methods to generate a little money...

I read in some places that doing surveys could generate you a small profit.. so I started to google for information and there are toooons of places to make this kind of work...

After researching about some of these websites, many people said that they were scams and never pay what you make there...

So I would like to ask you, do you know sites to make surveys that are reliable and that can be recommended?
I preffer doing the question here than spend lots of hours researching on Google, perhaps some of you have consistent info and can give me some useful tips

Kind regards!
Marcelo

Honestly, those things are never worth it. You virtually always have to fill out some kind of "offer" to get the "free" prize. And there are usually stipulations that you have to keep the "offer" until a certain period is over, usually long enough to make you forget about cancelling it if you don't keep really good records. Even then, usually telling them to cancel simply does not work, and they'll keep charging you forever.

That's just my experience though. I'd not go down that path if I were her.

Even the ones that aren't scams won't have enough work for you to do. You could finish all their surveys in one day and then hope that more become available later that month.

If making .05 a survey sounds nice than go for it. You wont make much at all for doing paid surveys.

Online surveys are a legitimate way to earn money (not on all sites, of course), but it earns so little. The sites that actually pay cash (as opposed to points for gift cards, to use for contests, etc) have pay-outs that are difficult to reach due to most people only having a few surveys available to them. They can get very time consuming, as well. The first part of a survey is for qualifying purposes (the same questions that are already in your profile to being with :rolleyes and you usually have to go through quite a few to qualify for one survey. Once you qualify, you again answer all those same qualifying questions. It's annoying!

There are much better options available if she wants to earn a little money online in her spare time. If she's still set on surveys, though, let me know and I'll see if I still have e-mails from ones I used in the past.

Waste of time in my opinion. Although there's this website where you can get paid 2 cents for every email that they send you, and they spam you with like an email every 5 minutes. From there you can figure out the math to see how much money you make per hour. Also not worth it in my opinion... better off selling on ebay.

All the ones I have seen are the ones that give you a chance to win a sweepstakes. As if they really expect you to put all that time in for a chance to win something? Pass. Then they really make a big deal about making $1.50 guaranteed on a survey that takes 10 minutes. So I am making less than $10 an hour and that is a better deal the chance to win something? No thank you.

Most of the paid surveys are scam and are just meant to waste your valuable time. I have joined few but realized that they were all scams. But still there are genuine paid survey programs, which you need to identify through proper research.

If paid surveys were that good source of dollars everyone would be doing it. Most of the paid surveys are for US and Canadians only, and mostly they let you do little amount of forms.

If you 'pay' them and get a 'gold' membership may be then you get $2 per survey and 10 surveys per 24 hours.

    Thats it!

  • It is nearly impossible to even make gas money in a week doing surveys. I used to do them in the past and youd be surprised how many surveys actually are screeners that disqualify you from the actual survey.

If she want more predictable income she should try something else. There are tons of ways for her to make money online.

Yep, I know some Survey Sites and GPT Sites that made me a little tidy profit and weren't ripoffs . If you want to PM me I will give you a list because I did them for over a year. Not major money but $150 to $200 a month with a little work. Make no mistake you will not get rich doing them but for a little spending money or making a car payment here and there they are worth it, imo

Okay I will go ahead and name a few good ones I had some good luck with and made money with :

      1.Lightspeed surveys
      2.Opinion outpost
      3.Global Test Market
      4.Survey Spot
      5.My Survey
6.Your Free Surveys ( Both a Survey and Gpt Site)
      7.Cashcrate (Gpt Site)
      8.Fusion Cash (Gpt Site)

Like I said you can make a few hundred a month with some work. (Cashcrate and FusionCash you can make more with their impressive referral programs )

I guess for me it was the very first online endeavor where I actually got real money with real Checks in the mail. And without spending a dime. So that was a real rush.

Generally, I found them to be low paying as in very low paying or NO-paying as in they give you credits that you can buy stuff you don't want instead of money.

Many of the sites that sell you the list of places to submit surveys are a real scam. Don't pay for that. Use the list above if you're going to do this. I don't personally recommend the list, as I haven't checked any of them out, but I doubt that Discrat would put up a bogus or scam list.

I'm a member of two reliable survey sites but they are exclusive to my country so I can't make any recommendations. Sorry. Bear in mind that you won't make a lot of additional cash with this, but if you're willing to dedicate some time now and then to complete the surveys on offer you might be able to earn an extra $10 a month or so (more if you're lucky).

There are soooo many other avenues to go for making additional money online. I've tried the survey method. It's way too time consuming. You'll find that the time-to-payment ratio isn't anywhere near worth it.

If you're okay making $0.45 for 30 minutes of work, then give it a shot. I also don't recommend the work-with-major-companies-and-get-instant-checks system.

You know. Sign up for a free offer with DirectTV, and then cancel within a certain time period. You're than eligible to send out offers to others and get commission checks for referrals. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying these are scams. I'm just saying that I know of others who have gotten burned because they didn't read the fine print.

My advice -- "Caveat Emptor" -- Let the buyer beware.

There are a lot of good opportunities out there. Do your homework. My further advice: With any opportunity you're thinking of, Google the name of the offer and the words "Warrior Forum" after. If it's anything worth discussing, it'll be on the WF. This one trick alone has saved me hundreds of headaches and thousands of dollars.

      To your success,

      Bob

Unless they've had a serious overhaul, you'll earn next to nothing (if anything at all) and be no better off for your time spent doing them.

I tried for some time in the past to earn by taking surveys. I did not qualify for most surveys. It really hurts if you don't qualify. You tend to waste a lot of time in the process too. There are of course a few genuine paid to take surveys companies across the Internet. As you have pointed out it is better to google out to find them.

Just like pretty much everyone else has said, surveys are a waste of time unless you manage to get in with some large research company (which is almost impossible). Most survey sites will earn you nothing - tell your girlfriend to start something a little more like a real business if she wants to get into IM.

There are a huge number of things she could do that would earn much more than surveys and would actually take her less time. Blogging for one is a great way to start.

    Hope that helps

I agree. While there are some legitimate ones, they pay very little and you pretty much feel as though you are wasting your time. I did it for about 30 minutes one day, made about $13 but I can't cash that out. I just don't feel like doing that everyday. You can make good money with the ones that have referral programmes though.

2 years ago in my more desperate days, I tried my hand at them and never wanted to go back because of how tedious they are.

Plus, the latest survey scripts are smart enough to know if you're just blindly checking all the answers.

Like most people here said, don't waste your time.

I wont go so far as to say that surveys are scams, although I have been hurt by some. But you need ALOT of points for a payout, like 200 or 1000 and the surveys give you around 10-50 points per survey. And you would not get to finish all the survey they send. Sometimes after you give all you personal info, they say 'you are not eligible' ... There goes your 30 points. If you are lucky you can get a payout in 1 month but most often than not you wait months before you can even smell that money.

And the surveys are not little questionnaires. You answer 20-30 questions. That's about 45 min to 1 hour. You could have used the time to send a solo ad. Or write a post.

Time consuming and just not worth it. I suggest other things.

Wish you and your girlfriend all the best.

Like others have said, tell your girlfriend not to waste her time. I tried this route a few years ago; made next to nothing with most of them. I still do surveys for Zoom on occasion, but the points you get are for stuff - books/trinkets/whatever.

I picked up a couple of paperbacks I was interested in and a book light. Didn't have to get a TON of points to select those, but it wasn't a small amount either. To get the really, really good stuff you DO have to hold out and get those tons of points.

If your girlfriend can write, have her go to iwriter or some freelance site and write for others. Or she can select an affiliate product off of Clickbank or whatever and make more money than she would ever make doing surveys.

I think this is a horrible way to make money personally I'd rather shovel steamy brown turds for a living. It would probably pay better too.

But practically speaking there is a video on youtube that shows you how to use greasemonkey along with a form filler to complete surveys in like 1/2 the time. Apparently a method like that could make you a bit more cash, still I find any effort towards survey filling to be the most tedius, boring, bland, unexciting, thing a person can possibly do.

It really is something only a robot could enjoy. And honestly if you could find a robot to fill surveys for you, thats the only way I'd recommend it. =]

Its hard to tell you a specific one, because you are right they generally are spams. I would recommend maybe writing articles for freelancer.com, selling audios or videos and becoming a virtual assistant. These are all ways to get cash without spending too much time and without having a website.

    Hi there.

In my earliest investigation of how to make money online, surveys seemed to be one of the most referenced methods I kept finding in my search results. Most of them suck, to be honest. There are a few that are legit, but you can't expect to make much with them.

I recommend SurveySpot.com. They are legit and you can make a few hundred extra bucks through them if you click on the invitation links they send you by email soon enough to participate. They go pretty fast in my experience. Especially the ones that pay the most.

They pay through Paypal and the minimum payout is $10.00.

To put things into perspective, I went back and looked at my old Paypal transaction history and found that between the dates 01/17/2010 and 06/25/2010 (roughly five months) I made a total of $279.00 through SurveySpot alone.

Not anything to write home about, but probably the best survey site that is free which I've been able to find. I still use it every once in a while, but have mostly shifted towards more profitable ventures.

You got to understand this...there are so many ways to earn money online. But you got to focus on the right method that can bring the best results for you.

It's just like driving a car to a destination. There are 100 types of cars to choose from. Don't choose mr bean's car if you can choose ferrari =p

    All the best!

What would be other low-skilled jobs or venture somebody could do online to make money? It is not for me but for someone I know who is not online savvy, just looking for $150 a month.

    Read the title.

Came in to say I would never be able to pull something like this off.

Ah, the memories of attempting to start earning money online doing surveys. This was the first thing I did when I ventured into online earning, and having spent around 30 minutes on a survey regarding some cream that helps you grow your nose hair or some rubbish like that, I earned a whole.....wait for it.....25 pence. 30 minutes of my life wasted. Should have probably spent time on this forum and learnt the real methods to make money online.

My advice - Don't do it.

Not to be too repetitive, but taking online surveys is a pretty horrible way to make money. You'd be better of going and getting a job as a sign twirler on the street, you'd make money faster.

IF you simply must do online surveys, two legitimate and quality websites are GlobalTestMarket and Surveyhead. GTM will send you a lot of surveys worth on average 30-60 points each. Once you reach 1000 points, you can cash out for $50. Surveyhead doesn't offer as many surveys, but they have an iPhone app that allows you to take mobile and local surveys. The local surveys pay between $.10 and $10 each, but you can do essentially unlimited amounts. Basically if you're within 500 feet of a restaurant or business, you'll be able to take their survey (3-5 questions), and make $.10.

One last option is fiverr.com, you can sell a service of any sort for $5 a pop. The hard part is breaking in to the saturated market there. Either way, hope this helps.
