Chart that compares your product/service to the competition - good or bad?

I see these charts on a lot of different sites, mostly technology service sites like hosting companies, VoIP and service providers, etc.

So I did some "stalking" on my top competitors' sites, those that still rank one or two slots ahead of me on the SEs.

And I created a chart: http://www.wedding-favor-bookmarks.c...-bookmarks.jpg

My question is, would this type of a competitor comparison hurt my business? If not, should I place it sort of inconspicuously like on the Pricing Info page?

I would do some of that red & yellow highlighting on the image first but wanted some feedback before I went any further with it.

Thanks!

(BTW - thanks again to those who have been helping me with overhauling this site. I made two more sales this week!!)

Its not something I would do.

Seems a bit of a smear tactic to me.

    Dont do it.

Spend your time doing something a bit more positive and constructive

Write some killer content, contact some other webmasters, network with people, get your business out there.

These people you're smearing might just have a sizeable list and be willing to do a joint venture with you.

The sites that are ahead of me in the SEs are substantially older than my site. While they've been around for 5+ years, my site's only 3 years old. So to rank on page #1 and in many cases within the first 5 positions, and ahead of some of them on a couple of main keywords, I guess I'm not doing too shabby.

I've done it for VPS's(sig link before) and working on dedi's, comparing/listing offers, companies etc...(no smearing) but it's not for the money, is because i'm passionate about that space. I've put a lot of hard work in my main site, contacting providers, writing code etc...to be honest it's really not worth what I make at it(the time that is), but again, is a passion. I also don't put affiliate links in posts or anything, so aren't utilizing like I could, but I have no desire to do that and I want to keep the site how it is. My lead competitors site is a complete joke compared to mine, but people flock to them because they been around for 4 years and google loves them. It almost seems like someone at google manually set certain keywords to their domain too. At least bing isn't lame like that and actually shows quality, non-wink wink results for sites simply because they're old or someone at the company thinks they should be an authority site.

With that said there are many review sites out there, heck to give you one example I remember some company was selling illegal college degrees online, and being clever they knew people were probably trying to research the sites before spending thousands so they tossed up a a college degree review site for people searching which was the best etc...that kind of stuff is sleazy to me, but I know it was probably very advantageous for them.
