First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone here at the Warrior Forums! You may not know it but in just the few days that I have been here you have already changed my life. Not even done writing the third sentence I can tell you that this will probably be a long post, so please bear with me on this.
I recently posted a thread titled "My Story-Please Read", this was my very first post here on the forums. I cant post links yet but feel free to look it up if you want, it will give you a little bit of background of why IM here writing this in the first place.

For the last 2 days I have been wondering where do I start? I don't have a product to sell and for the most part cant think of any specific skills I poses that would seem valuable enough to offer a service. If your new here or new to IM in general does this sound familiar, or is it just me? Now I can tell you I have spent many sleepless nights lost in the realm of Google trying to figure out how to make the quick buck online, but it wasn't until I came here that I took some time out and realized what it was that I eventually wanted to accomplish. I not only want to be successful and have a better lifestyle doing things that I love, but I want one day to be able to help others find the same thing. I know one thing as I'm sure if your new like me that its a scary world entering the life of making money online.

Ok, so everyone by this point is probably wondering how can someone that knows hardly anything about IM, SEO or redesign help anyone? I have been browsing this forum and reading many post over the last two days, doing searches, reading archives, I even ran across the "old forums". I think I have spent more consecutive hours here than I have at work the last 2 days. Yes, without exaggeration i have been up almost 36 hours without any sleep. By the time I finally logged off of here last night it was almost time to get ready for work again, so a cup of coffee and a quick check of the weather and I was off to the dreaded 9 to 5. All day I just kept racking my brain and asking my self where do I start? I had tons of questions and still do. I could make thread after thread asking all my questions, which to be honest I thought about doing. Then I got to thinking, it's obvious there are a lot of helpful members here and I had already came across stories about successful people that started there IM careers right here. One post comes to mind, cant remember the persons name or thread, but it was about how he had achieved his first million in sales. To me it was just inspiring. So I searched some more, finding some answers to questions I had. By this point though I found my self skipping all of the threads that had anything specific or targeted on how to make money. I was focused on the post that were specifically directed to new comers and discussions on how to start up or run a successful business.

Here are some of the things that always seemed to come up

1) Success takes time and hard work

2) This is a business - Treat it like one

3) Be sincere, your customers can and will eventually see the real you

4) Strategy is key, this is not the lottery. Getting lucky will not make you truly successful

5) You HAVE to have a plan. I guess the old saying is "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail"

6) There are a lot of members here willing to help, but you must help yourself this isn't a free ride

7) "Ill get to this in a minute"

8) "Ill explain this one at the VERY end" Content is King

OF course they were probably worded differently but this is what I got out of it. Its one thing to wonder who really knows what there talking about and who doesn't, but when you see many different people saying the same thing you can only think that there must be some substance to it. Of course nobody knows everything, so its always good to take in as much as possible and process everything to figure out what is best for you.

If your still reading, that great because IM going to bring you straight to the point. I left out number seven but here it is.

7) Don't get discouraged if you fail, learn from your mistakes, or BETTER yet learn from others mistakes.

I explained earlier that I eventually wanted to become knowledgeable enough to help others to become successful without going through the endless circles that I am. There are many people that will try to sell you a step by step guide on how to become successful (to me these are the good people to listen to) and there are others that will try to sell you a step by step guide on how to become rich. (this is to me is a red flag in my book). The thing is are they really going to go years and years back walking you through all of the mistakes they have made along the way? Seriously who would buy something like that? I would!! Making mistakes is a part of life there isn't any way around it, but to be able to avoid some of those mistakes could save a lot of time and money, and can be some of the most valuable information in any business.

So what I have decided to do is three things.

1) Quit dreaming and start doing

2) Create an avenue for new people new people like me to learn from some ones "mistakes"

3) Make a means for new people to start collaborating discussing and learning "together"

I might not be knowledgeable enough to teach any one how to become successful yet, but together we can succeed. Remember this quote by George Edward Woodberry "Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure". This is so true!
So this is how I want this to work. First if you are still interested subscribe to this thread. If you are new here it can be found under thread options. I found this very useful and am already subscribed to many threads here on the forums.

I will be keeping track of everything from my goals, how i plan to achieve them, what I have learned and from where. I will be updating this thread with my progress and any useful information I may find on the way. Of course this will not happen over night so if you would like to join me, please subscribe so that we can work together and learn together.

Thanks for listening and participating if you decide to.

Don't worry I didn't forget!

8) Content is king "Arm yourself with the power to move people with words and you'll need little else to make money any time and anywhere you choose." quoted directly from here on the forums

I have never thought of my self as a good writer, and I think that has been one of my downfalls to getting started so this was actually one of my first steps in my learning process. I tried to incorporate some of the things I've already learned here in the forums while writing this. for example I read somewhere on here its good to have just enough content to keep the audience interested while leaving out enough for the person to browse through to your site. Well I don't have a site but I tried implementing this leaving out the number 7 and 8 in the list above.
I would also like experienced warriors here to subscribe also and maybe you can help us out when you see we need help.
Again thank you everyone for listening, let me know how I did on my first writing to an audience.

This is a learning process for me to.

Well this seems as good a place as any for a "newbies" first post. Hey there Woodward, names Jay, nice to meet ya. And a big HELLO to WF... seems there are some real honest and good people around here more than willing to help out the new folks... very cool.

I like what you've written there, and have subscribed. So consider me one to follow along and learn with you. Also I like the Xtreme Tablet forums you have there in your sig, so look for me over there as well.

We call this a "follow me" thread. They're not allowed in the discussion areas.

The reasons are simple. They tend to proliferate pretty quickly, and clog up the front page of the section. Also, they almost invariably turn into pitch threads.

You may want to start a blog on the subject and link to it in your signature.

Sorry, I thought I had read all of the rules. But the way you put it I can see how this could be bad for the forums in general. I only had good intentions.

I will take your advice and make a blog. Question? Once i make the blog is it against the rules to make a post explaining what i have above and to sign up on the blog or book mark it?

Admin or Mod you can delete this thread or I will if its possible. Again sorry didnt mean to break any rules thanks for the info Paul and also appreciate the 'why' instead of just saying its against the rules.

    Hi
It is quite refreshing to read a well written and well thought out post like yours from a new member.
Many of the people joining these days are either to lazy to do their own research, posting stupid questions that have been answered a thousand times. Or ,they are just hoping to be spoon fed all the way to success?

Then you get those who join only because they heard that the WSO Forum is the place to make easy money, they normally start off with a thread about some secret system that they have developed and how much money they are making.

    Anyway i digress.
You seem like you have the right attitude and willpower to do really well, just remember IM requires hard work and dedication, success rarely comes overnight.

PS. Stay away from WSO's with exaggerated income claims and unrealistic promises.

    Here's to your online success...
    Cheers

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
