"Bad" backlinks resulting from rss feed use

I was checking external links to my site via google webmaster. I realized that two porn sites have picked up my RSS feed.

Yea, it is lovely. I looked at the google cache page, and it is a site with raw porn in the sidebars. Going down through the center is an "article" comprised of various feeds, including my site. It has the name of my blog at the top of the article.

My site is in no way related to porn. Think toasters (not the niche). That is how far off my site is from the topic of porn!

Is there anything I can do about this or should do?

I am concerned about the negative impact on PR.

Thanks!
Carmen

I usually get trackbacks from these auto bloggers, so I normally check the site and if it doesn't seem like quality to me I will do a WHOIS on the domain and contact the hosting company to have them remove my content or link.

I was doing this yesterday, where I even had to file DMCA complaints and got one site shut down.

You won't get penalized for getting that link. Google penalizes PR if you link OUT to bad neighbourhoods. If you could get penalized for receiving a link from an unrelated site then Google won't make sense because then webmasters can go out an sabotage their competition. So...you won't get penalized. No need to worry.

Thanks for the feedback. I was shocked to see the porn sites listed!

I realize that I have no control over who picks up my feed. Looks like there are good and bad things about having an available feed. I remember another post from a few days ago where the OP was very happy about the backlinks being generated from his rss feed.

It looks like the only thing I can do at this point is to get lots more quality backlinks to override this.

I would love to get my link removed from this site, but how would I even go about doing that? And does this stir up more trouble then it is worth?

Dont worry about it. You cannot control it so you do not get a penalty as RG said above.
