Understanding Alexa Profile

I was looking at the Alexa profile of the blog of a client of mine, which said that 33% of the blog's traffic comes from the USA, 13% from India and then a few more countries listed with 1-2% each. Should I assume that the rest of the traffic is also international, with so many different countries represented that they don't show up named in the statistical profile?

When I looked at the Alexa profile of my own site, this interpretation fits, as my site was listed as having 46% from USA, and it makes sense, knowing our respective businesses, that I would have more USA readers than she would.

Or should I assume that the rest of the traffic comes from "unknown" and therefore the client could actually have more than 50% traffic from USA?

Thanks for any insights on this!

Alexa doesn't mention uniques to your website rather hits. Also try quantcast.com and compete.com to see variations in stats.

I agree also I must point our that percentage is something that doesn;t makes good analysis. Say if the blog get a traffic on 100 visitors in a month then what singnificance does 33% US, !7% India traffic has. Also alexa traffic can be trusted only if the blog or website has a traffic ranking in Alexa <=100000
