Newbie would be awesome if you could look over my site :) willing to listen and learn

Hi guys

im a young aspiring digital entreupner i have developed my site called stylehumper.com solely on my own and by learning everything there is to know about Wordpress and affiliate marketing in the last year.

STYLEHUMPER is an online destination for men's global fashion exploration. Inspirational and unique street snap photography from around the globe are the focus of the website, allowing you to explore different styles and giving you the option to purchase the items you love on others.

All the photos are original from my own network of photogrpahers around the world

commissions are paid through several affiliate schemes such as Skimlinks etc

Any constructive feedback would be great as I'm still in BETA

we have several ideas in the pipeline but are taking it slowly

iv already made a few commissions so that was pretty exciting

anyway thanks for your time

if you put stylehumper into google it is the first result

Looks like a novel way to market fashion, it would be interesting to compare the results of a front page with a dynamic slideshow sequence in place of the photo grid, the grid could appear in a sub page. This leaves more real estate yo mix it up on the first page.

The least useful search result is your site name (stylehumper) some SEO services use easy to rank unique names as search milestones, unfortunately it doesn't attract many visitors. (I saw little on humping, but it gets a guys attention)

    Hey Michael,

Not a bad looking site you got there. I'm no expert but what I'd suggest is adding a email sign up form and/or an rss feed to that you can keep in touch with your visitors.

Very important to get them on a system of some sorts so you can keep them up to date with whats new and point them towards your affiliate offers.

Good luck with it - Noel.

I should start off with the disclaimer that I am no expert when it comes to this. From a personal opinion though (and a young man who tries to be fashionable) it is pretty interesting. Get it in front of the right sets of eyes and it could probably take off.

Just looked at first page. Nice looking site. One thing I would say is, just looking above the fold, I have no idea what your site is about, maybe have a tag line below the title. The title takes up too much real estate. It means something to you, but not anyone else as you are not a big brand yet. May add something like "fashion for fun" or "for him...for her" or make a play on that GREAT Paco Raban advert where the guy says "this man wears pace Raban ......... What she wears is up to him"

My 2 cents worth. Good luck

Personally, I think it has potential. Whether this will draw traffic, who knows, but the shots of people on the street and links to product purchases is done well. Agree with Global Warrior's comments, while it's fine to want to brand it, it's not immediately clear there are even products for sale.

Its a site with a bunch of people wearing fancy clothes.

There is very little organization, nor do I see any clear message on the site, or a form, or actually a lot of things that are essential to a successful business.

You should label different styles from all over the world like "asian fashion" or "indian fashion" or "american fashion" and segment the front page so its easier for the reader to find what THEY are interested in.

You also have quite a few pics that aren't stylish at all, like that guy on the left/middlish wearing all black (blonde hair) I don't see anything stylish about that outfit at all. Its all black, nothing unique or cool about it. So that gives me the impression you have a lot of filler material thats already lacking value. Only use the BEST of EVERYTHING.

Focus on really delivering that value. Make things clear and organized, have an overarching message and make the site easy for people to understand and navigate.

I do think you're on a decent path however, just needs a lot of tweaking, so g/luck!

Thanks for the advice ... Defitnely good point about the clear message of the site as soon as you go on.

In regard to the photo you pointed out within my "niche" that is street wear for 18-30 crowd that is a good look because the brands he has on and the exclusivity of the trainers he has on (I only know this as am part of that scene) which is why it's the 3rd highest viewed on the site.

I have taken a lot of pride in the photos as we have a network of photographers and these are exclusive for our site.

I'm definitely gonna take your points in though especially having the overarching message.

      Thanks for the advice

Great idea, Michael. I always love those street fashion sites. I guess, in your niche, you can be as big as your community is. So, what a forum may be a good idea. You're already planning to implement email marketing. Also, you may want to revise your social icons. They don't look fashionable.
Lastly, like others said, you need a slogan.
I'll PM you the links of my two favorites in this niche. You probably know the sites, or maybe not
