Email Marketing Newbie

Hey fellow warriors, I have had success in the Adsense game but I'm looking to expand my reach a bit. I want to get into email marketing and list building but I'm having trouble separating the good from the bad.

Can any successful email marketers steer me in the right direction? Is there a beginner friendly ebook or course that really tells it like it is?

Much Appreciated,

-Bob

    A few tips from me:

    1) Get a targeted email list
    2) Ensure that you comply with the law
    3) Use an email management company e.g. (Aweber or Sendgrid) to manage your emails
    4) Don't use your domain to send your emails from
    5) Follow up your original email at least once, ideally more
    6) Built rapport in your email and give content of value

I work on the Facebook Client Chit Chat. Chit Chat is a Facebook chat application that you can use on your desktop in order to send and receive Facebook messages. It supports Facebook chat history, text formatting, sound alerts and much more!

    find a niche

build a squeeze page offering a free product

write a 6 - 7 email follow up series for subscribers to read. (try to sell in 2 or 3 of these emails)

search on google for some killer traffic techniques, buzzblogger.com has some good
free info - and her course is also very good!

keep feeding traffic to the list

build a good relationship with buyers/subscribers so they will buy off you in the future.

There's this book called "Optin Profits" from Ewen Chia that you should check out. It's very good.

Starting a list: Here are three quick and easy ways to build a profitable opt-in list:

    1) Get your customers to trust you and your products first.
Just launching your opt-in list would not make you an expert and a believable seller. Put many articles first before you start an opt-in list. Write about the topic you know and have started and used for your site. Try to put forums first to gain knowledge about your customers about their wants and needs and target those wants and needs.

Join forums from other sites as well. Provide expert advices and recommendations. When you feel that people trust you already, you will be able to start your own opt-in list. You can build a base as well with other forum users. You can ask them to join your list.

People are not going to buy something out of your recommendation if they don’t know you.

    2) Find a product or service that people want and need.
Although it may not be your forte, if you provide a service and product that you have researched and learned about well, you can carry it on forward. Invest your time, effort and money that you could sell as well as the buyers or subscribers of your opt-in list can use.

    3) Make friends with other opt-in list users.
This is basically beneficial especially if it is someone who has already launched a successful opt-in list. These are people that have the experience in this venture and experience is still the best teacher.

    Hope this helps

I see again many good instructions that i would other wise give too.

There are 2 parts to email marketing.
1st is to get the list.
2nd is the rapport building and marketing to your list.

So if you want to have a little of a fast-track by skipping the 1st part then hit me up tru my sig. =)

Otherwise you may choose to build a list by other means and then milking your list. Or like what solo ads are for, you milk other peoples list 1st.

    Cheers

    Hi Bob

If you're already doing well with adsense, does that mean you have a blog?

I would add an opt-in form to the sidebar of your blog, and give away something of value. As mentioned already you'll need to invest in a service such as aweber to manage the list and generate the code for the opt-in boxes.

List building is really pretty simple, it's just about building relationships, people only make it complicated so that they can sell the solutions.
