SoloAds Effectiveness?

All...

I saw SoloAds mentioned in another thread and wanted to hear from Warriors who have used them. What was your experience?

What kind of visitors does it generate? Would the traffic be appropriate for an Amazon review site (either as folks looking for product reviews or folks interested in earning from the Amazon program as product reviewers?)

Your experiences with them would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Ever heard of this thing called an "X-Box"?
The first generation X-Box was first promoted through Taco Bell.
Anyone who ordered a quesadilla got a promotion code to order the X-Box.

If Solo Ads are good enough for Microsoft...?
Or would that be a Thank You page Upsell?

    Either way...
All marketing is referral marketing... You are getting someone to "refer"
others to your list in some way. Solo Ads are one of the quickest ways
to get a lot of people looking at your list, or signing-up for your offer.

Of course, the quality depends on several things, including whether
their list is complimentary to your own business, what kind of "relationship"
they have with it, and how they promote your link when they send
the message. For best results, obviously, you want someone with
a strong following to give a strong personal recommendation, usually
at least twice in one week.

...All of that rambling aside, Solo Ads are an excellent way to find
new customer and break out of "Newbie" and "Intermediate" status.

Edit: To answer your questions, which I first missed in my wine-induced coma,
Sola Ads generate a good amount of fast, targeted traffic. Yes, it would be
good for your Amazon review site (which I still think is a great idea, btw)
because there are tons of people trying to promote Amazon products.

There are lots of people who have "Amazon" lists which I am sure you can
get Solo Ads from, too. I see money in your future.

...Of course, I'm also seeing double, so don't take my word for it,
But my costs with Solo Ads are usually less than S0.80 per subscriber.

Solo ads can be a great source of traffic. The many things to be aware of, is to stay relavent with what you are promoting. Don't send a solo out to a list from a golf site, if you are promoting hockey sticks.

If you can find a list provider in the niche that you are in, then go for it. It can be one of the most profitable, marketing strategies out there.

    I hope that this helps.

When doing solo ads you need to find out what type of traffic they are sending. I've done solo ads where the person I bought the ad with mailed their list and brought a lot of traffic and high optin conversions. I've also seen people who sell solo ads and just tweet links to their followers and send terrible traffic with horrible conversions.

So if you do some homework and find good providers and find out how they send traffic you will get better results.

You need to position yourself as the person everyone sends traffic to and soloads are very good for that.Personally I have used safe swaps and received 60 new sign ups with each mailing and thats with a relatively small list .

Thanks all. It seems to me that my best bet (if I am going to use solo ads) is to use them to bring in those looking to make money as contributors to the site instead of promoting Amazon products to them.

Also when you do a solo ad, it would be best to drive the traffic first to a squeeze page and capture their email before you redirect to your offer. That way you have the opportunity to follow up and send them other offers in the future. This will help you get your solo ad marketing expenses back much faster and at the same time build a list in that niche. Just my two cents

Soloads are probably the goldmine traffic source of today, just like adwords use to be about 5 years ago.

Some of them can actually send you up to 3000 targeted people, and if your offer is great, you can easily get a list of 1200 – 1500 people overnight. And if you’ve added one-time offers, you’ll recover some of your costs instantly. I highly recommend this for everyone wishing to fasttrack his success.

Thanks everyone who contributed to this thread.

I am also looking for solo ads to build my list.

Can anyone suggest where I can buy "quality" solo ads?

How much am I expected to pay?

What are the factors that I should look out for?

I've been using soloaddirectory.com and a warrior here named Todd Dowell.

I think it's best to promote IM hot topics that are related to (Traffic and/or conversions) and also have a simple opt-in page that only accepts email and please take off the double opt-ins.
