Does Anyone Use a Pinterest Adder Bot for Traffic?

Hey guys... anyone here uses Pinterest? These new social networking site is creating a hype in the SEO world so I tried using it. I just wanted to see if anyone here has experience with a Pinterest Marketing software / Pinterest bots. I ran across a free demo at ninjapinner.com when I searched Google the other day.

Also, are following and re-pinning the best ways to get traffic from Pinterest?

Thanks,

Hey ConnerD... Yes re-pinning is really the holy grail of traffic generation on Pinterest. Also, the more followers you have, the more chance of getting your content re-pinned. So, really you need both. The bottom line is when you take an action on Pinterest, it sends an email to the user letting them know. I've tested Ninja Pinner and it does bring website traffic quickly due to the mass automated functions. I don't have experience with other bots. However, I'd be skeptical of those that don't offer a free demo. Good to test the program before you buy. The great thing is that Pinterest doesn't have any limits / restrictions / captchas right now.

Something else to keep in mind about Pinterest is that a vast majority of its audience is women. This is slowly changing but it's still true now. So you will want to pin things that appeal to them if you want a good shot at re-pins. Consider your niche when you get on Pinterest to be something female friendly and you're gold.

I recently read that Pinterest is the fastest growing website in history. So it's wise to have it a part of your business plan.

Thanks for your input Matthew, well I haven't checked the amount of traffic yet since I used ninjapinner for I concentrated first on having followers after creating my account. Well I agree with you that we should take a look if the software has a free demo before buying the full version. I always want to make sure if it is really effective or not.

Yup! I can already envision the panicked / upset posts where someone based their entire traffic source off Pinterest; only to have it shut down because they used an automated bot.

Mizambar... Beginner marketers usually are the ones that place all of their eggs in one basket. Too many chase shiny object syndrome here on the Warrior Forum. That's definitely not a good idea. To ignore the power of Pinterest (and the windfalls of traffic it produces) would be foolish, though.

We're already seeing an extra 80 visitors / day on a couple niche sites just from Pinterest. Not all of the traffic is from bots either. I know a girl that's getting an extra 300 hits per day, which is translating into consistent sales.

Agreed! I think Pinterest is great and have been a member there since last year but now I am starting to see people posting spammy comments.

Hope it doesn't get full of spammers like Twitter has

I wouldn't use any bots as of now..things are changing and whatever bots they create will get you banned, maybe for the time being no but wait and see, tweetattacks got suspended because of such issues, and with Google changes you never know..

If google notices that the accounts/ pins you submitted got banned then they might put you on the watching list..they got banned for a reason

Hi Zaco... Actually, if history is any indicator the best time to use a Pinterest bot is now. If you look back since 2005 (especially on Facebook and Myspace), the first two years of each network were awesome! There was no spam and barely any restrictions. I remember adding 200+ friends / day on both of those networks. Once they get really large, then they start cracking down. The key is to simulate manual adding, hence the need for a time-delay feature. Those early adopters that take advantage now will probably benefit the most.

Hey..Maybe..but is it worth it to get your amazon account banned? most affiliate networks respond to any spam request by banning the users for ever..not sure if its worth it..

    From James

"A few weeks back Pinterest implemented a feature that would reduce spam. Any user could Pin only one original item per hour (perhaps two/three - I'm not 100% sure and I don't think there's anything official) that would appear at the top of the category pages.

You could Pin as many things as you like, but only one item per hour would be placed in the Most Recent section.

This is an effective way to stop spammers from getting extra exposure.

    James"

Hey Bill_Lawrence... NinjaPinner works great on our end. You might contact their support to walk you through. On the blog they discuss how to create an authority profile on Pinterest. I'm curious what you guys do to help build credibility so that other users trust, listen and re-pin your stuff. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thank you! The NP bot demo works great on my end... and fast. Graphex, what problem were you having? Not sure if you guys saw, but there's also a time-delay feature, too. Robyna's right, the vast majority of users are women so products / services that target women work well. You can also add affiliate links to pins so that when someone clicks an image, they're re-directed to your site. The fact that Pinterest is so addicting is something marketers should take note of. It's Facebook WITHOUT the whining...
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5930921].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Matthew Loop
Yes, you can easily place Amazon affiliate links to certain pins. If that's all you do, though, you'll be toast. The goal is to think long-term and build a brand that gains real popularity on Pinterest. Just be cool. Engagement in regards to liking, commenting, and re-pinning is an important part of the process. The more you "listen" the more people listen to you.

Fuse your personal interests / tastes with links to other products and services you've tested that are good. Bots can be used for leverage, but if all you do is spam links you're missing the point and won't generate much income....

I would advise against using any type of bot whether it be for Pinterest, Twitter, etc.
Although hypothetically you could use bots to just speed up the process of what you could do manually, bots will eventually be detected and accounts can be terminated for spam. Even if you were doing nothing unethical, I'm sure it looks very suspicious when you are repinning, following, and commenting at such a rapid rate. Just my two cents.

Yeah... in the early days when a social network springs-up, the sites are typically relaxed on their limits. That's usually good for marketers.

Not in the long run. It encourages abuse, which leads to such excess that the resulting crackdown hits even many legitimate users of the service.

And then everyone who got hit comes in here and whines and moans because their latest scheme for leeching off someone else's work and investment got shut down.

In the mean time, something else new and cool has come along, and the cycle is repeating there.

I just think a lot of people get upset because they don't like the idea of another person having a competitive advantage over them. A bot gives you that advantage to reach and connect with far more people than you normally would. You build your audience bigger and your ability to influence faster. As long as you're not stealing others info, involved in phishing, or any junk like that, what's the problem?

You can use automated software the right way, or you can "abuse" the system and spam the **** out people. That's not cool at all and those marketers never get very far. I can name you at least 3 social media / internet marketing gurus (we've all heard of) that used bots on Myspace, Twitter, and Facebook which is the reason why you know them today.

If you use a Pinterest bot to follow 200 people / day, like 100 posts per day, and re-pin 50 images per day... how can that be considered spam?

Pinterest is growing rapidly & its a great social media if you target audience is women... but you have to slowly & gradually build your profile based on what u wish to promote...don't rush into putting up affiliate links as followers will quickly notice it & you'll be ignored as a spam...

OK, here is my two cents, take it as you want, some people will have no problem with what I say some won't. Someone wrote earlier that the best time to use a bot is when a social network first comes out. I agree.

Hey I'm gonna be honest and I'll admit that I have used some black/gray hat stuff in the past, and I'm not against still dabbling in it. If you don't agree that is OK, to each their own, but anyone in IM has dabbled in some suspicious marketing every now and then or at some point.

That being said, Pinterest will eventually flush out bots, so if you are gonna use one don't expect it to last forever, you may get a year or two out of it, sometimes more sometimes less, that is just the nature of bots and social sites.

As far as mass repinning and commenting, I would shy away, but mass following, I don't have a real problem with that, but we'll see if pinterest does in the future, right now I haven't come into any restrictions on following, did get a warning for pinning to fast (I would keep pinning down to every two hours. Every hour at the most if you want to try and push it).

But again all this can change in a day, who knows.

Plus mass pinning can work but your goal is to have other people repin, so following alot of people in the hopes of them following me is really the only automation I do. ad if other people are repinning your stuff and it's not all coming from you that might help you "stay under the radar".

I have set up a separate account in case it does get banned. I can just create another one if that happens. People say they will catch on to making "fake" accounts, but in my experience (maybe your is different), I have never come into this problem.

I used (a few years ago) to do alot of "unethical" stuff on Facebook, had some accounts banned and just started new ones, they never stopped me form making a new account. Again you might have different experiences.

As far as TOS, Pinterest doesn't like pictures pointing to affiliate links, so what you need to do is have it pointing to a sales page, a product review page, or an Amazon store, that is not against their TOS and it is not against Amazon TOS (as far as I can tell, I'm not telling you the end all be all so don't just go by my statement, do your own due dilligence), they give you the ability to create an Amazon store so you can promote it.

Could this all change? Sure it could, they could both change their TOS tomorrow, but that is life in IM. Search engines change, sites restrictions and TOS change, that's just how it goes. Make money one week and it could all come crashing down the next.

If you are thinking of using a bot I'd say now s the best time to use one, but use common sense when using it and don't abuse it.

Good advice, bostoncitymass... I agree. Bots like this are good and can be used to automate many of the processes, BUT you must use some common sense. Nice points.

I'm applying roughly the same kind of strategy as yourself - and I do some mass-liking of the pins of the people I follow, which gives them another opportunity to follow me back.

Do you use Facebook ? Then you can make money just by inviting people to a Facebook group ! It's called the Instant Income System. How cool is that?

Some good stuff here. Not sure if I would use bots. I like the ideal of building for the long run.

Does anyone know how many members / users are on Pinterest right now? I heard somewhere in the 14 million range. Is that right?

I'd say 14 million is a pretty decent estimate. They were at roughly 10.5 million in Feb of this year. All I can say is that Pinterest has been driving an avalanche of quality traffic to our sites, which I'm THRILLED about. Crazy how fast some images go viral!

I couldn't get ninjapinner to work right either. Oh well, I think I am going to steer clear of bots for now.

Alfid... It worked well for me for a few weeks now. You should try to contact their support. They're helpful.

Yup I confirm, the support is usually quite responsive and helpful.
That’s actually one of the reasons why I chose to stick with this particular software. Using an application for which you get no support and / or doesn't get updated, in that particular case, wouldn't be a good choice. When Pinterest makes changes on its website - which is normal - it's important that your software gets updated quickly.

Yes, OldLodgeSkins is correct... NinjaPinner's support has been awesome. Any social network like Pinterest changes their code so you must be able to keep-up. They've done a great job so far.

I own 3 Pinterest bots and NP is the most stable and simple to use. I only use it for repins of pictures in my niche and with the new follow owner option you can follow and repin at the same time. I never use it to add affiliate links and is just a slow and steady way to build up long term followers over a few accounts. I use a different technique to add my money site images which is unique and not spam, but still automated.

Pinterest is one of the best platforms for businesses to drive traffic it can send you alot of traffic if you know what you are doing and set it up correctly!

Pinterest does bring website traffic quickly I used it a few months ago and I am still getting traffic to this day the secret is to create good quality pins. I have not tried it with any software though.

Something else to keep in mind about Pinterest is that a vast majority of its audience is women this is slowly changing but it's still true for now.

You could use bots to just speed up the process of what you could do manually, bots will eventually be detected and accounts you have could be terminated for spam so you have to be careful.
