When the vendor doesn't reply...

Hello everyone.

I found a good product that I want to promote. The problem is that the vendor didn't reply to my email, nor to my Facebook message, so I take he abandoned the product.

I still want to promote it because it's a good product, and I thought of advising my subscribers that the author will most likely not respond to any questions, and that if they want, they can contact me instead.

What do you think about this idea?

The only problem that pops into my mind regarding this alternative is that
there might be people who won't read this paragraph or forget about it, and when their emails won't be replied to, they'll lose trust in me.

I think it was about 2 weeks ago. Also, on CB, the product has N/A average sales which tells me he didn't sell anything in the last 8 weeks.

I answer every single email regardless of who it is within 24 hours.

What are you going to do when you need support from the vendor in order to help one of your own customers?

This doofus will only make you look bad.

Based on what you're saying above, I'm thinking you should just create your own product. You care about your customers, you know a lot about the topic...

Yeah, how long did contacted the owner?

There are really product owners like me who doesnt like responding in emails or facebook because we get a lot of spam messages daily. Maybe the owner of that product is providing a help desk or ticketing system where they prefer to be contacted?

Some vendors don't reply because they get loads of affiliates trying to get in touch with them. I have had people come to me with questions like - How do I start making money online? How do I build a website etc. Now when such a thing happens most vendors automatically start ignoring affiliate emails.

Also, some affiliates forget the fact that a vendor won't mentor you every step of the way. And, if you wish to truly get a vendor's attention, make some sales and then try to contact him. You will usually always get a response.

I see what you mean, but I don't want "mentoring". I just want to know that he's still alive and breathing, and that he'll handle all the questions my potential costumers will have when they reach him by email.

The problem that concerns me most is that he has that N/A on Clickbank, which means in the last 8 weeks or so, he didn't make any sales. That, accumulated with the fact that he didn't reply neither on Facebook nor to my email, makes me think he abandoned the product, which, by my standards, is very good.

Well if he has abandoned the product then you can't expect responses of any sort and neither can the customers.

As simple as it sounds, the situation is infront of him.
He hasnt made any sales so he must be on a drinking spree to oversome his disappointment,

I would suggest look for another product..

Let's look at this a different way, if you went into a store and asked for help but no one would answer you would you still stand there saying I want this product that I'm not sure will benefit me? I say move on, if the vendor can't be professional enough to acknowledge your questions why in the world would you want to promote their product? Why don't you write your own similiar product (obviously don't copy it) but if it's something you know about or are interested in you could easily produce your own. Not crazy about that idea? Find another product that's similar you can promote.

I would keep it moving. Is this really the type of person you want to work with? Customer service is super important with any type of venture, if you can't get a response, imagine what buyers would think when they don't get a response either.

Don't waste your time with this vendor.
    You should find another one.

I don't understand where you are coming from on this.

Did you buy the product? If it's available for sale on CB (never mind the stats), then it's being sold. Some sellers use CB for payment/delivery but advertise products elsewhere.

If it's available on CB - why can't you sell it as a CB affiliate?

Sounds like you are interpreting facts to suit you - N/A on average sales may indicate a rather new product on CB and nothing more.

Failure to answer may be a seller who assumes affiliates will sell through CB and doesn't want to deal with them directly.

I could Becky, but it takes a lot of time, effort and money (for the copy and stuff), which I don't have at disposal. I'd rather find something else, even if not on the exact same topic, than do one myself (I'm lazy too!).

Kay, thanks. I thought of checking the domain's age, but I don't know why I assumed it was an older product that wasn't selling. It turns out the domain was registered just 3 months ago, and I think it's safe to say the product is new in this case.

        Crucial Update:
I've sent an email 6 hours ago to the vendor again, using another email address, and what do you know? He just replied.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, and the thread can now be closed.
